Kanki Japanese House of Steaks and Sushi

I ordered the Chicken Hibachi yesterday. The only flavor I got was pepper. The Zucchini wasn’t even cooked, The rice was under cooked, the chicken was chewy. Now I have food poisoning. Not even two hours after eating SOME I began to throw up. This is the worse. Never will eat from here again.

What a noisy, crowded, but fun time. The chef was very entertaining and the food (Hibachi Beef in my case) was surprisingly good. Except the soup was insipid. Parking was apocalyptic.

We visited tonight celebrating my birthday. The food was good. The chef was fun and did a good job. What I am very unhappy about is that we did not know gratuity was included —18 % — this was for a party of 6 — 2 children 2 and under that hardly ate .. the server then brought the machine out to pay rapidly — added a 20 % tip on the machine .. so it seemed very rude to attempt to remove it !! Absolutely unacceptable!! No receipt offered at all . So a wildly high tip for minimal service ! 20 percent was appropriate !! Not this . Robbery !!!!!!

The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable, plus the hibachi chef was not only a culinary artist but hilarious as well. We were not rushed in any way which was appreciated. And to top it off the prices were quite reasonable.

It wasn't my first time here but it was my first time sitting at the bar vs. sushi bar.

1st mistake: I had to wait 5 minutes to get acknowledged because the bartender had her back to the counter while playing with the floor manager/host. NEVER have your back to the bar. Duh 🤦🏻‍♀️

2nd mistake: I got cold green tea which is supposed to be hot.

3rd mistake: The bartender got my order wrong. And left things off.

4th mistake: I asked for a drizzle of eel sauce on my roll and they brought a crap load of white sauce. But then it came back drowning in eel sauce and I couldn't eat it or I'd probably die from the intake (sooo wasteful).

So My Words of Advice: Don't eat at the alcoholic bar if the short girl bartender is there. I had to switch to the guy. Otherwise I would've walked out...

We arrived and was told to follow the hostess and then she said not y'all got told that three times WILL NEVER GO AGAIN BAD SERVICE HOSTESS. We left and went to the restaurant on Wake Forest Road it was excellent hostess, service gave them a five star for service.

Carried my wife out for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. Food was excellent and service was excellent. Definitely going back in the future.
