Costumer service sucks. I came in and our table was filthy so I asked them if they could clean it and they looked at me like I had three heads and started saying how it wasn't dirty even though it was absolutely disgusting. They are very mean.👎🏼

My first time trying hibachi in the glenwood area of Raleigh. I can say I was highly disappointed. The service was good even though it was a busy evening. I was by myself and wanted to enjoy a good dinner. I believe the chef was inexperienced and didn’t fully give us the teppanyaki experience. The rice and shrimp tasted burnt, I was practically given the scraps off the grill as my neighbor that sat next to me asked what was this about. I ordered the emperors delight and watched him give other people pieces of the filet while trying to give me pieces of rib eye. I said I ordered filet the chef said it is filet but you can tell it wasn’t. Maybe it was a bad night or something. Definitely missed out on a continuing customer. Met an amazing family and that’s the only reason for the 3 star on atmosphere. The waitress was good and attentive. My issue was with the chef.

I have been a frequent customer at Kanki Crabtree Valley Mall for years, which is why I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience on May 23, 2026.The manager on duty was Daniel.

I placed a to-go order online and clearly explained that, due to health concerns, I cannot eat certain vegetables. To avoid any confusion, I also called the restaurant directly and spoke with the employee handling the to-go orders to make sure my request was understood.

When I arrived to pick up my food, the order was still prepared with the vegetables I specifically asked to be removed. Thankfully, I checked my food before leaving. Otherwise, this could have caused a serious health issue for me.

What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of professionalism during the interaction. There was no apology, and the response I received felt dismissive despite the seriousness of the situation.

As someone who has supported this restaurant frequently, I hope management takes dietary restrictions and customer concerns more seriously moving forward. Food allergies and health-related requests should never be overlooked.

If you’re looking for one of the best dining experiences in Raleigh, you have to check out Kanki Japanese House of Steaks & Sushi.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone for an incredible meal. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and truly goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is top-tier. The service alone is enough to keep you coming back.

Now the sushi—absolutely outstanding. Everything is incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. You can tell they take pride in their craft, and it shows in every roll. Whether you’re a sushi regular or just getting into it, this place delivers at a high level.

The hibachi experience is just as impressive. The chefs are not only skilled but also entertaining, making it a perfect spot for date nights, family dinners, or celebrations.

Overall, Kanki on Glenwood Ave is a must-visit. Amazing sushi, exceptional service, and a consistently great atmosphere. Easily one of the top Japanese restaurants in the Raleigh area. Highly recommend.
