They did not come by the table after taking our order to ask if we needed anything or give us more water. The lack of interaction with our server made our experience feel like a street restaurant rather than an elegant restaurant.

What a cool spot in Smoky Hollow! The ambience is very modern and feels hipster-y. We ordered five items, including the octopus, cauliflower, fried mushrooms, scallops and burrata. My two favorites were the scallops and mushrooms, but they were all fantastic and unique. The drinks were excellent, as well. I love sweeter cocktails; often, in places like these, the drinks are very liquor-forward to a point that they’re not enjoyable for me. They offered those types of drinks, but they also had multiple options for people like me who like something milder. Will definitely go back again!
We rate our first dinner experience at Madre outstanding in all three areas: food, service, and atmosphere. We ordered four items and they were all prepared to perfection. Amazing food! We will return to try other tapas and brunch. Andres, our waiter, is exceptional in every way. He is professional, polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. He definitely played a very important role in our enjoyment of the dinner. A dream waiter! The atmosphere is perfect too. Madre's interior is very impressive. It has pleasant outdoor seating as well. This relatively new restaurant in Raleigh has a lot going for it and all good. Highly recommended!
