This was our first time at The Fiction Kitchen. I am the vegan in our house, but my husband is not and he was the skeptical one. Unsurprisingly, I loved my meal. Everything about what I had was delicious and flavorful. What was surprising is my husband's reaction - he said it was the best meal out he'd had in a very long time. Thank you for helping to show him that eating vegan doesn't mean you have to sacrifice anything. We both are excited to return soon and try more things on the menu.Dietary restrictions: They are easily able to accommodate gluten allergies as well as nut allergies. The menu is clearly marked and the staff is knowledgeable.

We had the pleasure of going to Fiction Kitchen for my birthday. We made reservations, but the table before is was a bit behind. The staff was MORE than accommodating and kind- Apologizing for the delay and ensuring we would be seated soon. They went above and beyond. We sat down (with a skeptical family), but rhe meal could NOT have been better! We had the twice baked potatoes and skillet cornbread to start. BEST cornbread I've EVER had. The potatoes were delicious and left my family baffled as to how they're vegan:) I also had the drink "The stalker" which was DELICIOUS and refreshing!!!I'm gluten free and was so pleased there were so many options. I had the risotto with fried tofu. The portion was very large and DELICIOUS!!!! Everyone enjoyed their meals greatly. The staff went above and beyond- explaining things to these curious non- vegans, with excellent recommendations along the way.I took home some PB cheesecake to enjoy at home. It was UNBELIEVABLE. One of the most delicious desserts I've ever had.Thank you for winning over my skeptical family and filling my adventurous heart, while honoring my own dietary needs. I WILL be back for SURE!!!Dietary restrictions: GF options available

The food was delicious except the noodles weren’t cooked properly, they kind of hard but still the dish delicious. I wanted to eat in but was told my only option was carry out because they were totally booked. There was at least four tables available but I understand about reservations. I have never been anywhere the seats on the bar are reserved as well, which was about five open seats. The person that greeted me was very friendly about the only one. He recommended the spicy peanut noodles (not sure if that is the exact name) so good. He walked me over to the bar to place my order. The person he took me to never greeted me. She walked away. I had to ask if she was going to take my order. I get my order there is no utensil or napkins. I ask the person that took my order for utensils she tells me that will be .50 cents. I was given a nice bag with the food in it but had to pay for utensils and a napkin. If that is your policy that should be disclosed when order is placed and offered the option to pay when you order. I had no cash on me. I didn’t know that there was such a thing as pay for utensils when I purchased my food from your establishment and it was not my choice to have to carry out.

I would actually give it 4.5 stars but happy cow doesn't allow half stars. It had enough good to round up to 5. The starters are amazing we got the charcuterie board, mot stix, and fried mushrooms, all of which were amazing. The kid got the chicken and waffles, and we got the bbq plate which was just ok(a little bland). The place definitely requires reservations, the staff was super nice, place was clean, but it is very pricey for sure. All in all I would highly recommend a trip here.

Every bite is delectable. The menu is thoughtful. I would drive three hours to Raleigh for the weekend just to visit this place. We didn't make reservations far enough in advance, so we had to get takeout. Even so, the presentation was beautiful and the food was exceptional. I can't wait to come back.

Second visit. Drove more than an hour from home for my granddaughter's birthday. We remembered how much we had loved the food the first time we went at their previous location. We shared Mozzarella sticks, the Risotto, and Meatloaf dinner. We split everything and still took half home for another meal! The food is simply outstanding. I wish it were closer I would eat here all of the time! The only downside is it's a little pricey - especially the wine. I got the cheapest glass of red ($12) and it was not a generous pour - however it was a really good glass of wine! My granddaughter had a delicious mocktail and they brought the Tres Leches dessert for her birthday. That was amazing!Vegetarian options: Fiction Kitchen is all vegan - therefore automatically vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: They accommodate gluten free and nut free options.

Vegan Viv is sad to say that even tough my friend and i had the best vegan food ever and it was our first time there i have to rate this way. My friend drove from Rolesville and I live in raleigh. The people at next table drove from Fuquay-Varina. We were both celebrating birthdays. This was the first time a server came up to us while we were finishing our drink...apologized that we were holding up the next reservation and had to go..there was a 90 minute schedule. I have never gone anywhere that i would be timed while eating and talking with a friend. Your limited hours/days open resulted in me getting home in traffic the same time my friend got back to rolesville. So the beautiful pics i took and the wonderful food you provided will result in me not returning to your establishment. not the hospitality i am use to. We also spent allot of money and there are more vegan restaurants that don't time you. irregardless cafe will remain my go to.

This is my first time coming back since the location moved. I reserved with a few friends, we got:* Potato Chaat - 3.5/5 was pretty good but honestly very salty and probably needed some kind of creamy sauce to offset?* House Fries -3/5 - Okay, but most of the spice was under the fries so they were pretty plain. We asked for pimento cheese, but they just came plain* Partition - 4/5 Pretty good, mildly sweet* Meatloaf - 4/5 Pretty standard meatloaf, overall good! Probably couldn't tell it was vegan if I wasn't told.* Chicken and waffles 2.5/5 - I've had these before and was surprised when my friend wasn't a fan. I tried a bite of theirs and it really felt different than previous times I've been. The outside was great but the chicken interior was really mushy*Peanut Noodles - 4/5 Probably the best entree of the three our table got. The tofu on top was really good. Sauce was a bit too much but overall decent.*Apple Pie 3/5 - It was good overall, but the pie was ice cold. Almost like it had been in the freezer? I wasn't expecting it to be warm but I wasn't expecting it to be ice cold, either.Overall, I give the good a solid 3/5. Honestly I feel like the food quality has decreased since I've been, but maybe it was an off night. As far as the overall atmosphere and service, both were great!

Great vegan food with gluten free and other dietary needs noted on menu. Can't wait until they're in their new, permanent location.
