I've searched for a good sourdough loaf throughout all of Raleigh, and have tried all the popular and 'top-recommended' bakeries; in conclusion, Union Special has my favorite loaf for this reason -- it's the closest I've found to homemade sourdough. I have a few family members who make homemade sourdough from a starter they've shared, and unfortunately it's nearly impossible to find anything even close in comparison.

Always enjoy trying a place we haven't been yet. Service was quick and the cinnamon bun was very flakey and tasty. Also we enjoyed the black and white coffee as well as the Americano. Great experience.
