“My daughter, her bestie and I make the trip from VA to Wake Forest whenever we get a chance to get some of the fruit pastries. We usually get one of each then some to take back with us! The owner is super nice, the bakery is warm and welcoming but above all the pastries are heavenly. We have never been disappointed. I’m ready for another trip!“

“It’s a beautiful bakery, with kind staff and was overall a good experience. In my personal opinion the croissants are the absolute star of the bakery. The pimiento cheese croissant is what southern dreams are made of. The peanut butter cookies were good, as was the baguette (a little more salt and it would have been great, but that’s just being nit-picky). The cinnamon roll was a little on the dry side, maybe could have benefited from a little more glaze, but had a good flavor overall. The shortbread was the heartbreaker for me, but only because I really love shortbread and had high expectations. Shortbread is supposed to be very buttery, and I tasted very little butter. The glaze overpowered it a bit, and I think it messed with the texture as well. If it had been a bit thicker, I doubt the glaze would have affected it as it had. It’s still such a cute cookie, and it’s not the end of the world. Especially with the friendliness of the staff and the variety they had, I know it’s a lot of work and everyone is going to like different things. For me those croissants will be something I dream about, and I can’t say enough good things about. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.“

I went into this location about 1 hr before closing and the associate on staff, Carnell, was super helpful! He was knowledgeable about the cookies this week which really helped me narrow down what I wanted. Well done Brier Creek location! I will definitely be returning soon!“

Their baked goods are amazing. The employees were lovely as well.

We loved that they have an area for kids inside, stocked with toys and books. This is a really nice, helpful touch for parents, that I can't recollect seeing almost anywhere else.“

“I've searched for a good sourdough loaf throughout all of Raleigh, and have tried all the popular and 'top-recommended' bakeries; in conclusion, Union Special has my favorite loaf for this reason -- it's the closest I've found to homemade sourdough. I have a few family members who make homemade sourdough from a starter they've shared, and unfortunately it's nearly impossible to find anything even close in comparison.
The texture of other bakeries sourdough typically leans toward what feels like store-brand, some even lacking any hint of 'sour' at all (for reasons I don't know because I'm not a baker). While it isn't perfect, Union Special retains the most 'homemade' feel and is definitely my top choice in the area. I'm grateful to have come across them.“

Person “couldn’t find” my apartment which has never happened and decided to drop off the box at the front office which was closed. I get there and they were stolen. I called the store asking what could we do and Caroline picked up and PERSONALLY delivered a new box of cookies to me herself. I don’t write google reviews often but Caroline was so accommodating that I feel I had to do this. As a person that works in a customer facing industry, Caroline has gone above and beyond! I know it may seem like a box of cookies but they are my finances favorite and I’m surprising her at the airport with this box that Caroline delivered as I type this.“

“We love Little Blue Bakehouse and all of the local bakers they carry. It is a happy and safe spot that is family friendly and also a great place to meet up with friends. It is also the best Raleigh spot for me, a gluten eater, to find an entire case of gluten-free baked goods for my non-gluten family and friends that they actually love and want to eat.“

“I had a gift card given to me some 1.5 years ago, and just today made my way to the store! Felt adventurous and was craving some tropical fruits. I was blown away by the variety of exotic fruits, and the extensive choice of fish. The store is, certainly, a cultural experience! My 10-year-old and I each got a smoothie - mango and pear, but I feel curious about many of the other drinks and desserts that I’d love to try. They, also, have cooked/hot food there and will bring my husband next time since he loves Asian food. Can’t wait to go back!“

There was an issue with my roll, so I reached out and was compensated with two replacement rolls. The pepperoni and cheese roll is very delicious.
