Umami Japanese Steakhouse Sushi

Very nice spot for small groups. Some friends and I decided to try them and everything was good. Customer service was great.

The hibachi was insanely salty that it was almost inedible. I was not expecting high-end sushi, but their sushi left much to be desired at that price point. Our server was friendly and attentive, as was the hibachi chef.

Had take out this time but frequent this place for lunch and dinner. Drove 25 min out of the way. Because this sibthe best hibachi hands down that me and my wife have had.

The food and service was excellent !!! If you have never been I would definitely recommend you giving it a try !!

We had Tuna Tataki appetizer.
Main course: Wok Orange chicken, Lava sushi & Salmon Lover sushi. Drinks: ginger and basil infused Mojito and ginger beer.

Everything was awesome. Our server Carlos was phenomenal.
We sat outside on the patio up under the umbrella is beautiful.

Would rate it a negative number if I could. We came here for my birthday tonight, I had made a reservation a week ago. We arrived and were checked in and told that they were clearing out a table for us. 45 minutes later and after asking twice for an update, we were shown to our table. Drinks and orders were taken quickly and the drinks and soup / salads were brought quickly. We then didn’t see the service for 45 minutes (an hour since we sat down). We all had empty glasses and watched as all tables sat down right after us got a server. When they were all almost done with cooking I got up and visited the host stand to tell them about the experience and say that we had been forgotten about. The server came after that and refilled our glasses, she was not happy. Then a chef came out and started clearing away bowls and cups that the server hadn’t and my friend knocked over my water glass, it broke and drenched me in water. I just started sobbing and walked out because after two hours at the restaurant, none of us had food, we were some of the only people left in the restaurant, and I was drenched in water. My friends who did stay since we had already ordered said they didn’t clean up the glass and they just ate with broken glass in a napkin on the table. Both me and my friend had glass shards on our clothes that we had brought home with us. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had a restaurant and I would say yourself time especially and find somewhere to go because I’ve never experienced such negligent service and had a terrible birthday evening. Having a reservation at this place means absolutely nothing so I wouldn't bother. Any other restaurant in brier creek would be a better pick than Umami.

I eat Hibachi in lots of cities when I travel for work. This is hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. Came solo since I’m on a work trip so sat at the bar. Food and service were excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our first time here at this establishment. The atmosphere was great. The food was absolutely delicious. Our chef was very nice and accommodating. The server was also very nice and respectful. The prices are decent for the amount of food you get. Sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.
