Our recent visit to this steakhouse left much to be desired. Even though the restaurant was half-empty and there was no visible wait, it still took a surprisingly long time to be seated. The atmosphere didn’t help either—the space felt a bit dingy, and the menus hadn’t been wiped down. One bright spot in the experience was our server, who was attentive, kind, and clearly doing their best to elevate an otherwise subpar evening. Unfortunately, the food and environment overshadowed their efforts. The rolls and butter arrived hot and fresh, but we were immediately put off by finding a hair on the saucer. The appetizer—blossom petals—looked promising, served hot, but lacked any real seasoning and came with a dip that was unpleasantly bitter. The Caesar salad was decent, though a few older lettuce leaves were noticeable. The entrées were a mixed bag. The Jack Daniels bourbon chicken was extremely dry, and the mashed potatoes had an odd taste that none of us could quite place. One ribeye and one order of steak tips were fine, but the other steak tips, ordered medium well, were severely overcooked and dry. The loaded mashed potatoes also had a strange flavor that didn’t sit well. Perhaps the biggest letdown was the salmon. It arrived undercooked and had to be sent back, only to return overcooked and rubbery. The accompanying asparagus was bland and uninspired. Overall, aside from the excellent service, the meal was a disappointment from start to finish. We had high hopes, but the lack of quality and consistency in the food means we’re unlikely to return anytime soon.
Mgr. Donna and Servers Ann and Effie are AWESOME! Even though they Always mess up my Steak, Donna Always makes sure that they remake it Correctly. Overall they take Good Care of Me!!

This was my first visit here. It will also, most likely, be my last.
It's a Thursday.
Drink menu says "Thurs, $3.50 bottles domestic beer"
We ask which beers are on special for $3.50 Thursday.
She says she has to check what they have.
Comes back and says they ONLY have Michelob light.
(Yuck but Ok.)
Later, we get the bill. $5.75. why?
"Oh that was draft, not bottled."
But we had specifically asked for the special.
We ordered steak, one "as rare as you're allowed to cook it" and one medium rare.
We got one medium, one well done.
I watch, and as we're waiting....three tables (that I can see) complains about their steak being over cooked and they have a new steak brought to them.
We didn't bother complaining (but I also didn't eat mine. I also found mine to be very tough and grisly)
Our waitress seemed to be spread too thin...having a lot to take care of.
I think she was doing her best
One more thing; what is with the "super-skinny-only" booth size?
We measured. There was 15.5 inches clearance on both sides, between the back of the booth and the table edge.
I'm only 151 lbs and I could barely fit.
My boobs were resting on the table, the table was so close
I can't believe the average diner could comfortably sit here.
This wasn't the worst meal I've ever had, it's just disappointing when you ask for the daily special and you don't get it and when you specifically ask for your meat to be cooked a certain way at a steakhouse and you don't get it done right.
Seated at a table (or booth with more clearance - some had tons of room), not caring about drink specials and if you like your meat over-done, then you'll be just fine. Probably just an off-day. Everything was fine, otherwise.

If I could give them zero stars that is what they would get!!!
Waited 35 minutes for drinks, after asking for them from two separate servers! Asked manager and finally got drinks, asked for rolls. Waiter stated he was waiting on fresh rolls he wasn’t gonna serve us old rolls, after seeing four other tables get rolls and we hadn’t. Mind you at this point we had been there almost 50 minutes having not recieved our appetizers nor rolls our group of 8 people decided that this was the VERY last visit they would recieve from us! Two separate managers acted like there was no problem! After the manager acted like nothing was wrong. We gladly left! Had ANYONE apologized or tried to make any of this make sense we would have stayed! I’ve worked in food for the past 17years as a server and this server paid all of his attention to other guests that came in AFTER US! They don’t even deserve one star! DO NOT RECOMMEND! They weren’t even busy!

The manager was talking about us badly because we left after waiting 35 minutes and asking twice for drinks we finally got them. And waited over a hour with none of our ordered appetizers nor the rolls. Other families came in received drinks rolls food and more rolls while we sat there with nothing. They were not even busy at this time 3 tables….one party of one one party of maybe 6 and one party of maybe 4.

Tammy, our waitress at the Rocky Mount Texas Steakhouse, provided truly outstanding service and went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. With great food and friendly staff, I highly recommend a visit!

The server took a while in an empty restaurant to even get our drink order. Food was good, sweet tea wasn't sweet. Restaurant was dirty. Mold was growing on the blinds in the lobby.

So 1st time here and was looking forward to the rolls and butter that never came (possibly they don't do rolls anymore?). Took a bit for someone to come take drink order. The waiter seemed embarrassed to bring me an old fashion with no orange and 2 lemon wedges but that is not on him. Love the fact you use 1792 bourbon and wished I could of had a couple since I was staying at the hotel attached to the resturant, but no orange or cherry just couldn't do it. The apps came out with no app plates and the apps were just ok.

Feb 15 2025, five of us for dinner at 9 PM. Waited over an hour after ordering. A corn dog was served still frozen, burger ordered medium well was served rare. Went back into kitchen to find out what was taking so long, it was disgustingly filthy, almost walked out. This place should never be allowed to be part of a national brand

Tammy, the bartender, did a great job of attending to us at our booth along with all the other customers. And, she's got a great personality! The food was average, and could stand a little attention to presentation. It was really convenient that this restaurant is located in the lobby of our hotel.
