A Scenic and Delightful Wine Tasting Experience
I recently visited Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery for a birthday wine-tasting event, and it was a wonderful experience. Even in the colder months, the grounds are stunning, so I can only imagine how breathtaking it must be during the summer.
Upon arrival, there was a bit of confusion about where our group would be tasting the wine, despite having a confirmed reservation. However, after speaking with a manager, everything was quickly resolved, and the rest of our time there was seamless. The manager even led our tasting and did an excellent job. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared fun tips about wine that I can’t wait to impress my friends with at the next gathering.
During the tasting, they offered small snacks at an additional cost, including cheeses from local farms, which I thought was a lovely touch. It added a nice local flair to the experience.
Overall, I had a great time at Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery and would definitely return, especially during the warmer months to enjoy the full beauty of the grounds. It’s a fantastic spot for wine lovers and anyone looking for a memorable outing. Highly recommend!
MUST TRY: Mezzogiorno 2021
Great place great atmosphere and great service. Love the staff and the wine
Amazing wine
Great staff, Denise was fantastic,
Thanks!
Exceptional location. Exceptional wines. Reds are amazing. Wine flight/tasting of course. Perfect for any occasion. It’s a place that feels warm and family filled.
Having visited wineries in Sonoma/Napa valley as well as in Italy, France and at home in Virginia, I was skeptical that North Carolina could produce a decent wine. Boy was I wrong. This Italian type estate produces several grape varieties that they masterfully craft into complex and wonderful white and red wines. The 2019 Sagrantino was fantastic and the 2021 Grand Riserva was also quite good. Also enjoyed the Auguri white.
The view is fantastic and the the buildings are quite nice.
A must visit if you are in the area.
We went for what was supposed to be a very special dinner at over $120 a person. And what a terrible disappointment that was! The best part was a charcuterie platter with the wine pairing. I wish I've tasted nothing else, it was all downhill from there. Both salmon and steak were terribly dry, worse than you'd get at a greasy spoon place. I would never go back. And it's a shame because their wine is quite decent. But I feel that I was taken for a ride with the terribly low quality food.
Not up to the Italian standards of food for sure. What a shame!
Melissa made our experience AMAZING! It as our group’s first time here for a friend’s birthday, and she went above and beyond to be accommodating and kind and also STUNNING AND FUNNY! The wine is amazing, the property is picturesque, and we will all DEFINITELY be back😊
Fantastic wines. On par with old country wines.
Most awesome experience yet. The ambiance was so serene and great service. The wine was very good. Raffaldini is on our special list.
Raffaldini Vineyards and Winery was our first stop on a three winery Saturday. The winery and its grounds are spectacular. So are its views of the North Carolina mountains. We did their red flight, which included four of its recent reds. The wine was superb, and the service was too .

A good experience but you should strive for excellence. The beginning was disappointing. The hostess was initially kind when we arrived to let her know we had a reservation but soonafter approached her with the intent to ask her if we could go explore before our tour started and she was extremely dismissive. It deflated my excitement for the day ahead. I would highly recommend the owners or management to reconsider the face of their establishment. This was the hostess scheduled to work on 10/19/2024 around 1pm. I witnessed her being extremely rude to several guests. This was so unfortunate. It was a beautiful birthday other than that but why taint it with such an unwelcoming experience. Overall, your establishment was okay but the service is lacking. Your staff in charge of tastings are also lacking customer service experience. My fiancé and I were part of a tasting group and your server Benjamin skipped us on a tasting and I had to call him out more than once. He redeemed himself towards the middle but doesn’t take away from the feeling of being left out in a group when we were paying customers. Beautiful location but your service and staff are JUST OKAY. Would I recommend the place? I guess but be weary of the lack of customer experience. Would I host my wedding here? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Work on your staff training.
I am originally from California and Raffaldini is the closest thing to the wineries in Napa and Sonoma County. It’s a fabulous place to bring guests from out of town or as a side trip on your way to the high country. If you prefer dry wines, this is the place for you! My personal favorite is the 2017 Grande Reserve. Cheers!
It was a wonderful day to escape to the mountains and spend time at Raffaldini Winery. I recommend the Vermentino Superiore. Wonderful sipping wine. They also have a fabulous olive oil from Italy along with a great balsamic vinegar from Modena. Sat under the tent for a tasting and then bought a bottle of wine and sat in the picnic area. Our new favorite winery!
We used Raffaldini for our wedding venue this past weekend and we could not have picked a better location! The Vineyard is unbelievably scenic and private, which made the wedding feel very intimate. Everything was prepared and set up for the wedding. Tanja in particular was amazing to work with for prepping everything for the wedding. She went above and beyond for us both before and during the wedding. Would definitely recommend using Raffaldini as the venue for your wedding!
Staff not friendly! They also were not knowledgeable when we asked about the wine she told us well I don't speak Italian! They were the most Expensive out of All the winery's we have gone to. We have been going to different ones here and there and out of all of them this was the worst! The only thing going for them is their view! We did get there 45 min before they were closing we got stuck in a rain storm! we flew in from OK! explained this to them! They took 20 min to even acknowledge that we were standing there and the server took about 20 min to come to our table! We felt bad drank our flights and brought all our stuff in so they would not have to clear table and the guy there was rude. Other people were still at there tables drinking when we left. I go to a lot of different winery's around different states and I am in the food and Beverage Business! I have never experienced this before! Very disapointed!
