Gillis Catering is my go-to for feeding a crowd. I've used them for my rehearsal dinner (had to show the yankees what good NC bbq is), and a 30 person family picnic (on multiple occasions). The food arrives on time, hot and ready to go. I've never been disappointed. And I highly recommend the hush puppies. No one orders these for a catering event because all other hush puppies get nasty when they cool off. Not true for Gillis. The mojo or love in those things make them ahhh-mazing even the next day. Gotta order you some gillis!

We had a tailgate at a recent Canes game and had Gills Catering cater the event. Steve and the team did a fantastic job — the pulled pork was excellent, and guests raved about a few of the sides (especially the hush puppies, mac & cheese, and corn on the cob). I recommended them to a friend immediately after the event — I'd absolutely order from them again!

We had Gillis's cater our work Christmas party and were blown away! The food was amazing, everyone was very impressed. The employee that delivered it was super friendly and very helpful getting everything in and set up. We got three entrées and sides to go with, all tasted incredible! And definitely don't skip the cobbler! Thank you, will highly recommend and use again!

Ate at the Monogram Day picnic at UNC Homecoming 10/29/22 and even though I was late (well I wasn't late but they were shutting down early) and got the last of it, this was the best bbq plate I've ever eaten!! Slaw was perfect beans were perfect bbq was perfect chicken was perfect. I didn't have any tea or beer to wash it down, but it was still perfect. I saw the name on the guy's shirt and spent first qtr of the fb game trying to find out where they came from. I'm particular about bbq and this was - once again- perfect.

WARNING. Unfriendly staff with bland bbq. Not worth the drive or the price. Never been to such a sketchy bbq trailer. Owner was the worst kind of person to be around. Avoid at all costs.

Terribly overcooked food. Tried to talk to the guy but the hack was a j*** about it and so we left. Would recommend any other bbq place worst experience ever and the owner was so sketchy. A failed "electrician" cooking bbq. What a scam.

It is hard to impress me when it comes to pork bbq. But at a septic installers work shop in Cedar Grove Gillis's BBQ catered the lunch. Best BBQ I have ever eaten, green beans were cooked to perfection.Also enjoyed the Mac and cheese.Would recommend them highly.

Gillis BBQ has catered several things over the years for our family, but most recently they catered my daughter’s wedding reception Brandon was awesome to work with and the food was delicious as always.

Gillis always pleases! We've used them for 3 catered events and have always been happy as have our guests. We've done large 30+ people to small group bbqs and had nothing but great food and wonderful service. The fried chicken is my absolute favorite and the Mac and cheese is fantastic. If you love hush puppies they have some of the best, they always disappear. I personally love the green beans. They always provide serving and eating utensils and we trust them in the pandemic to be safe, we be ordering from Gillis again!
