Smokin’ Good BBQ

The ribs were smoked perfectly with an excellent sauce. The smoked mac & cheese was amazing.

What Smokin Good does well? Pulled pork is nice and tender . It’s a little dry but less dry than most barbecue that’s been drying out in a warming container for most of the day. The Cole slaw is very well balanced and really complements the pork. The hushpuppies are perfectly seasoned though slightly overcooked . Fries aren’t crispy but they are thick and inoffensive and have a Cajun like seasoning mix that is almost very good. What they don’t do so well: The chicken wings are huge and very juicey but they have a soft fall apart breading that makes you think these folks are trying something new in the kitchen and havnt quite figured it out yet. The biggest con is the price. Food trucks are notoriously expensive and food margins are too low so it’s not that it’s unreasonable. But you could enjoy fine dining for the same price with better chefs and much higher quality ingredients. Their signature bbq sauce is interesting. It’s not bad but it’s not great or memorable. It’s like someone wanted to take the best parts of tomato based bbq sauces and vinegar based ones and mix them together, throw in some seasoning (old bay?) and see what happens. They didn’t end up with the best parts, by any means, but it improves the taste of meat that's been drying out in a heated container.

The very friendly owner and staff could tempt you to come back for more. I think if you’re in the neighborhood and want a good barbecue sandwich that doesn’t skimp on the pork this is a good choice and waayyyyy better than your average road side bbq. But it’s nothing to write home about.

Purchased brisket w/side of fries, and two fish plates with fries and mac.

Was not a half a lb. of brisket. Weighed it out, and was closer to 1/4 lb. (Including plastic container), but paid premium for it. Fries didn't taste freshly cooked. The fish was decently seasoned, and a nice portion. Haven't tasted the mac yet.

I go to this food truck quite often and let me tell yall that is some of the best BBQ I've found around the triangle area he's got amazing hush puppies French fries and the mac and cheese is the best I love mac and cheese and that's some of the best home made food I've eating and I love everyone up their. Their always supper respectful and nice and he keeps a very clean truck with a sanitation rating 100

Saw this food truck on the way home and decided to stop and try them for the first time. I was excited to know that the business had received awards and accolades about their prized flavors on the meet and popular mac and cheese. Unfortunately, the food was very lack luster.

My mom and I ordered the fish plate with fries and mac & cheese, potato salad, turkey bbq sandwich and peach cobbler. I wanted to like the turkey bbq so bad, but it was extremely dry. Even after asking for a side of bbq sauce to see if that would help, it didn't. The macaroni wasn't hot and tasted like it was warmed in the smoker with mesquite wood, no seasoning beyond that. The fish was seasoned well, but we were not aware it had bones in it so we were unable to finish it. The peach cobbler slice was given to us cold. Although the flavors were amazing, when warmed up later it became very soupy. My mom really liked the potato salad, but I prefer savory/mustard over sugar/sweet.

Maybe we can try to visit again in the future!

Catered for our family reunion last year and even cooked hot fish on-site. Was great to work with and very accommodating.

We just had brisket today for the first time. It was amazing without the bbq sauce and phenomenal with the bbq sauce. I had a fish sandwich, Mac and fried hush puppies. Fantastic BBQ and my husband and I will be back.

We got the Brisket plus ends, the fish sandwich top 110% recomendable. Get your package ready for something good.

Every time that I visit Durham NC, this place is my first stop. They have the best Brisket and Pull Pork around. I highly recommend Smokin Good BBQ. You must try it yourself.

I had the opportunity to stop by this place once again while visiting the Durham area. This place never disappoints when it comes to quality, customer service, and authenticity. I had the Brisket sandwich and it is the best sandwich I’ve ever had…Period! My son had the brisket sandwich as well; In his words “that meat is delicious”. 10/10 recommend!

Sorry but the food was terrible maybe it’s because we got it from the food truck and not the restaurant but the fish still had scales on it the hot wings were not hot at all and mushy with no flavor the Cole slaw tasted like potato salad the Mac n cheese just tasted like liquid smoke no flavor and it was one big clump my mother got a fish sandwich and the piece of fish was soo small it could fit in the palm of my hand and I spent $50 on this mess NEVER AGAIN!!!
