Came to meet someone to chat about ideas, and have a coffee. I've heard of this place for lunch but hadn't tried it yet. Got an Americano, with a good selection of sugar free syrups to choose from (felt like I was back in Seattle with the choices). Picked up a homemade rice krispie treat for my husband (he loves them) and a scone for myself. Will definitely come back for lunch!

Was okay the first few times to experience something new but the sandwiches are always a disappointment. I got a hamburger there once and it what's so small it fit in the palm of my hand and was like chewing up leather. I really wish they had better coffee and trained their employees how to make espresso drinks properly. Sanford needs a proper sandwich shop/deli.
Dietary restrictions: They do not offer any low carb sides. The broccoli salad has so much sugar in it it's actually gritty from the sugar.

Super relax atmosphere, nice place to go for a self serve coffee with cream or request an speciality coffee. Good variety of sandwiches options and other specials. Right next to the antique store, so a good place for coffee then look around for some antiques.

Java Express has never disappointed us. Sandwiches and quiche are always on point. This is a nice quiet spot for lunch in downtown Sanford. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Located right in downtown within a short walking distance to a lot of shops. Try the big bird soup!

This place is SO GOOD. We stopped by and tried it on a whim one day and it's quickly become out favorite spot in Sanford. Super friendly staff, amazing service, hot and delicious food - you can't go wrong.
No frills luncheonette was an unexpected surprise. Ordered a BLT on sourdough and a cup of Big Bird Soup. The bread was grilled which made all the difference in the world — no weak BLT here. The cup of soup was more like a bowl. Full of shredded chicken and rice. Total bill was $12.57. Can’t beat the price. I don’t usually post reviews, but this place was a winner in my book.

Hash brown roller, Tex mex burrito was slamming. I came all the way from NY with a crew to eat a recommendation from a cashier clerk in a gas station who said Kathy’s Java Express. The friendly atmosphere, pleasant workers, food was awesome, very hygienic. Pick your own seat. And did I say the food was slamming . Very creative with the hash brown roller.
