Smoke and barrel is really a wonderful place to go. You get really amazing (try the brisket!) and wonderful small town, attention to detail service. Had a business meeting there and at the end my friend was like we need to meet here more often. Lol. Great

The food is awesome, and the selection of local beer is even better.

Stopped by after a long day and tried the Daily Deal: Prime Rib Sandwich with sides of Black Bean and Pork Soup, Cheesy Mashed Potatoes, and Collard Greens, with a Pint of Red Oak on draft. Once again, the Smoke and Barrel did not disappoint. The Ribeye Sandwich was absolutely delicious with generous portions and great taste. The soup was really tasty with subtle flavors and full textures. Potatoes and Collards really finished the meal off well and left me unable to find room for one of the many dessert options that all sounded amazing. The S&B has a plentiful tap and bottle selection, and if t'were later in the evening, a fine top shelf collection to invite shots and cocktails. The building itself is in a refurbished uptown area and its high ceilings and hardwood floors lend it an elegant but unpretentious feel.As usual I enjoyed chatting with the staff and really felt welcome. Nice balance of friendly Southern charm and space to unwind. So again, the Smoke and Barrel showed why it's a great option whether dining alone, in small groups, date nights, or listening to live bands. Look forward to many happy returns.

Been here several times and all the food is always excellent. Wait staff are friendly and they really hustle to ensure you get the best service. Music is nice, and not too loud for conversation. Overall one of our favorite places. Also you can pay at the table by scanning a QR code.

I didn't select Smoke and Barrel, it's where my group wanted to try. The atmosphere was dimly lit and rustic. The service was great and food was served within 15 minutes. My brisket was dry and bland so I soaked it in BBQ sauce. The sides were just adequate. Cannot recommend the food. Go for the beer and music ?.

The food here is incredibly mid. Lacks complex flavor and portions sizes are extremely small for the price. The ambiance however is great. Great music sometimes and the drinks are good. Service varies but most of the time it's good. They do not tend to food plan well so expect your favorite side to be out half the time you go.

Great lunch today after a morning's hike at Raven Rock State Park. Hickory smoked brisket platter and cheesy mashed potatoes were excellent. The servers were working their butts off, running around tending to a busy lunch crowd. Perhaps they were understaffed, but these people did an excellent job.

I recommend the S&B burger. It's great. Coleslaw is excellent, which is a hard sell in an online review, but hear me out. It's perfectly balanced, not sweet, not drenched in mayo or in vinegar. Can't go wrong on the burger with slaw.

I wouldn’t know how the food tastes. We walked in, sign said “please wait to be seated”. We stood there and not a single staff member spoke to us. They walked but us, walked around us, nothing. We assumed maybe it was more of a “wait till others are done” type seat your self. A staff member cleaned a table, then turned to walk to the back. A group who had already been sitting at a long table and were done eating spread out to this new clean table. So we left. My advice to staff; at least acknowledge folks who come in. Even if it is a tad busy.
