Another AMAZING experience!! This place is over the top in every way...and all the servers are spectacular!! Thank you again to Monika for our reservation and Caroline was exceptional!! The food, the ambiance, the setting, the drinks, the dessert...all incredible!! We will be back soon!!
Dillan was a great server and gave us the right amount of service we needed. Our entrees were perfect and so were our cocktails. The view from our table was amazing. I would definitely give the staff a 10 out of 10. Very professional, we will be back.
Excellent small plates. Atmosphere is amazing. Service is stellar. Great local restaurant! The fire place is one of a kind.
The atmosphere and service was stellar! And the food was great! My one complaint was that the appetizer was "over-plated." I ordered the quail breast, and it was smothered with crispy noodles. I had to dig to find the meat! I think a much simpler presentation would have had a greater impact.
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Canyon Kitchen, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The view is fantastic, and we were able to enjoy the grounds before our reservation time. Our server Cade was very friendly and attentive, and other staff members checked in on us as well. The food was probably the best meal of our entire trip, with such creative flavor pairings and ingredients. We hope to return to Canyon Kitchen in the future!!

Food and service were excellent, thought the front of house needs a lesson in hospitality.
We visited Canyon Kitchen last weekend for a long-anticipated retirement celebration, and while the setting and food were wonderful, the service fell far short of expectations—especially at this price point.
The grounds are stunning, the atmosphere is serene, and the food and cocktails were truly delicious. However, our service experience was disappointing. Our server was largely absent between courses, never checked in on the food, and at one point was gone for over 20 minutes while our drinks sat empty and dirty dishes piled up. When she returned, the only explanation given was that they were short-staffed.
Plates sat in front of us for over 15 minutes, and we were told the chef had to slow down the next course because the table hadn't been cleared. A bottle of wine we ordered before entrees wasn’t poured until we were nearly finished eating. There seemed to be no support from management or additional staff—no one checked in, and no effort was made to smooth over the experience beyond a vague “you have the table all night.”
As someone with 20 years of experience in the service industry and who frequently dines at high-end restaurants, I was surprised by the lack of training, attentiveness, and professionalism. The food and location deserve a higher level of hospitality to match.

We chose this restaurant for a great dinner out with close friends. The evening was a disappointment from the moment that we walked in the door and the snarky receptionist declined to seat us a few minutes before our reservation when the restaurant was less than 50% full. After being ultimately seated by the front door accompanied by a cold breeze, (while the receptionist was walking around in her hooded parka) we were moved to a table beside a large loud overserved group. The server did not bother to tell us that we would be charged two corkage fees for opening a Magnum bottle of wine. When we had called the Restaurant in advance regarding a corkage fee, it was never shared that it was one corkage fee per 750 mL bottle. We have never experienced that at any other restaurant and we consistently take our own wine. We were told that the corkage fee was $40. Ultimately, they charged us $80 corkage plus their automatic 20% tip. The service was lacking, the receptionist was snarky, and the view was absolutely no better than any other site in Highlands and Cashiers.
We had very high hopes for Canyon Kitchen. We had heard so many great things but all fell short last weekend. The service was meh at best. We waited 10-15 minutes between each course just trying to get a refill or any kind of service. The server didn't even bother to acknowledge the lag. It was quite chilly and the heaters were adjusted at others request but not for us. Overall our experience was one we will not be returning for. The food was decent but not worth the drive or the lack of service.
Absolutely beautiful setting and that is where it ends. We were a group of 6 friends expecting to have a nice dinner in an upscale restaurant that turned out to be memorable in the worst way. Our reservation was at 6:00PM and we arrived at 5:45 and were told our table would not be ready until 6:00 even though the dining room was bascially empty. We proceeded to the bar and waited until we were called, and were ushered to the 1st table as you walk in the door. (which was totally set up when we walked in earlier) As the outside temperature was approaching the low 40's it was quite cold and everytime the door opened it was worse. One of the hostesses actually was walking around with her coat on. I asked the hostess if it was possible to switch tables and after checking with her manager told us there were no othe tables available. A few minutes later she came back and offered us blankets. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME" We are paying $100+ per patron and you want me to sit in a dining room with a blanket !!!! We were eventually moved to another table away from the door and started our order with 2 of thier "bread baskets". $12 ea.for 4 tiny muffings and a miniscule amount of butter and olive oil. We did bring out own wine and knew there was a $40 corkage fee. The food was decent, not great and the waiter was barely seen after opening up the bottle of wine. After the initial pour we wound up basically pouring for ourselves. When the bill arrived not only was the 20% gratuity added, which I have no problem with, they added a 2nd corkage fee of an additional $40 becuase is was the bottle was over the 750ml limit. We called for the manager and was rudely told that stipulation is on thier website. We all had a few choice words for the mangaer and hostess as we were leaving but as far as we are concererned this was a "One and Done"

The location in beautiful Saphire, NC is fantastic for just enjoying the gardens and view before or after your meal. Reservation, highly recommended, book well in advance so plan ahead.

Our meal was wonderful. From beginning to end, everything we had was delicious. Winnie was the most perfect server - she made it all a superb evening. Loved it!
Food is bland and unimaginative. Staff was incredibly rude - like actually shocked to have been treated so poorly in this kind of establishment. Check out The Library or Madison’s at Old Edward’s Inn for significantly better food and customer service.

Couldn't really give an honest opinion... they said they were not excepting walk ins.
I guess make sure you have a reservation before you try it.
Incredibly rude service.
