We were a little disappointed overall. The place is very nice to spend an evening, great outside sittings. The service is very good. But this time food was very mediocre. My husband main course that was supposedly with sliced filet mignon was definitely not filet. It also had very unpleasant flavor either marinade/some spices or honestly the impression was that the meat was simply not very fresh. I attempted to order a salad that looked somewhat interesting with steak slices on the top as my protein was told that steak on the salad cannot be made medium or less temperature, it has to be more well done, at least medium well. I found this very strange. I order this type of salad all the time, and never had any limitations in temperature of the meat. So I switched to shrimps. I got 4 shrimps of very average small size on my salad. Well, we had no desire to order any desserts after that.

Amazing experience! We made a reservation for a small (15 person) wedding reception lunch. They took great care of us and seated us away from anyone so we could really enjoy our time together. Service and food was great. The atmosphere is also amazing, the place is super cute and full of fun decorations!

Pleasantly surprised to walk in for our first time to find such a cute and fun decor. Staff was very welcoming. Cocktail and glass of wine both fresh and well-made. Waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. Great menu choices, but Dinner was OK. Braised lamb shank flavorful but obviously a couple days old and warmed up, the Cordon Bleu had a wonderful presentation, but was so plain tasting. The kitchen is trying, but definitely needs to step it up a notch with its recipes to compete with the better restaurants of Cashiers.

Beautiful atmosphere but unfortunately awful food for the price. The $18 salad that was supposed to have quinoa, chickpeas, and lentils was a pile of lettuce with a small sprinkle of quinoa. Pretty sure the fries were frozen. Lovely setting but absolutely not worth the price.

We had the flaming cheese, scallops, and shrimp appetizers. All were incredible. For entrees, I had the trout, my friend had the sea bass - both were delicious. Service was attentive and informative on the unique menu and wonderful drink offerings.

We drove from our cabin past highlands where we usually go for our anniversary dinner. Saw great reviews and Mediterranean which we love so decided to give a try. Was disappointed with the old decor and furniture. I don't understand why they say it's Mediterranean. They have hummus and baba ganoush for appetizers but that's all I could tell. Expected nicer place. Food was fine but overpriced. Salad with toasted quinoa which I never tasted was $18- no protein! We ordered 2 desserts and thankfully, our sweet server deducted one for our anniversary because the crème brûlée was $15 and the one we paid $17 for was a tiny lava cake with a scoop of ice cream. $17! Wow! It really was tiny. Hubby's steak had good flavor but not worth $44. My Trout was good but asparagus was really tiny and only a few pieces. The rolls were the ones I've bought at store- frozen sister shuberts. They were not warm. Our server - I wish I could remember her name- was very sweet and attentive. Thank goodness for that! We did go early and the restaurant had one other couple, because we aren't that familiar with cashiers, nc and there isn't much to do in winter there. Highlands offers a lot more. We own a cabin in GA very close to NC line and takes us about 25 min to drive to highlands and another 20 from there to cashiers. We really had high hopes and wanted to branch out. I truly expected more based on reviews. Still had a nice evening but wouldn't go back.

Hidden Valley recently changed their menu. I was a real fan of their previous menu, but am not to thrilled with the current menu. We went for lunch with some of my family. I ordered the Mediterranean Flatbread and thought it was missing something to make it great. The previous version had artichoke hearts and was much more flavorful. My husband, however, got the Fusilli pasta in pesto sauce and thought it was pretty good and not as salty as his previous favorite (pasta with mushrooms). The service was great. Alison and her team took great care of us. We will have to go back and check out the dinner menu.

This was our 3rd or 4th time to Hidden Valley and we've finally decided that it's just not worth the trip any more. The food was mediocre (my sea bass was decent but fairly bland and my wife's chicken was very tasteless)...the final bill was about $100 which would be fine for a better meal but definitely overpriced here. For the same amount, I will always chose The Orchard in the future and even the Ugly Dog which isn't as fancy but has excellent food with flavor. On a positive note, the decor is very nice. Just not worth it though imo.

This was our first dinner experience after one previous lunch. We had a party of eight and everyone enjoyed their meal. We frequently dine at The Orchard and Library Kitchen and Bar. I won't attempt to compare the three in this space. I will simply say we will go back and make dinning here a part of our Cashiers dining rotation.

Took my family there for a special occasion. Was disappointed and embarrassed. So many better restaurants in the area.

Exquisite surprise! The food was superb with a non-assuming Turkish flare. Our table was served a pork chop, sea scallops, ravioli and a filet. All were 5 star quality, size & presentation. At Christmas, the entire decorum is MacKenzie-Childs from ground to ceiling. Fine dining in a wonderland of beauty and excellent dining.

We were so excited to dine here and so sad our visit was not as expected. First off we called and said we were hiking with our dog and asked if there was a dog friendly area where we wouldn’t freeze since it’s cold this time of year and the lady stated they had a patio area with ceiling heaters, table heaters, and a fireplace and it was hot and comfortable. We arrive and it was freezing, they just turned the fireplace on and no one ever came back to add firewood (my husband had to tend to the fire), the ceiling heaters weren’t near our table to help, and they never turned on the table side heaters. The waitress barely checked on us, did not take away our dishes, and told us wrong food information when ordering. She never even offered my husband a glass with the beer he ordered. Now the food, we read the menu online from reviews and saw photos and couldn’t wait to try it. Well apparently the chef and menu changed and it was terrible at best. It was a new menu the waitress stated. The bread was hard and stale tasting. The vegetables we got as a side for our kids because they only offer fries for the kids was the wrong vegetable from what she told us and came out cold and parts hard. The kids pasta with plain butter had a funky taste (how do you mess that up), the ravioli dish which was expensive had barely any meat, if any inside. We were really looking forward to this place, but with the changes that are new if it stays at this rate I’m sure we won’t be alone with this review. I hope they can read this and make changes quick or they will fail. Going out is too expensive these days to have poor quality food on top of bad service. Note to dog owners don’t think they have a warm and cozy patio like some restaurants do, it’s a lie. I wish I dropped our dog off at home after the hike.

I'm not a fan of the new menu. I had lunch with 8 other ladies yesterday and many were missing the old menu. I had Margarita flatbread and the garlic was so overwhelming I didn't enjoy the meal. It was like eating whole garlic cloves. I hope there is a balance soon between the old menu and the new.

Had the nicest dinner on a December night...heat lamps, roaring fireplace, and lap blankets made it cozy and toasty on the patio. Had a couple of excellent cocktails, and the middle eastern appetizers were delicious...great hummus, and I'm a hummus snob! Just a thoroughly pleasant evening, and dogs are welcome on the patio! ?
