The Library Kitchen & Bar

The Library is a true classic—and somehow it gets better every year we return. The trout was perfectly cooked, the soups were absolutely outstanding, and the desserts and cocktails were exceptional. Every dish reflects an impressive level of creativity and skill. The service was equally terrific. Sharon was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. We enjoyed our evening so much that we made reservations to return tomorrow. I’ve never gone to the same restaurant for dinner on back-to-back nights, but after tonight, I truly can’t wait.

Absolutely amazing restaurant-the best service, incredible food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious! It was so good we went 2 nights in a row. Our waitress was Hailey, she was over the top! Truly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! The owners, one is the chef and the other is the hostess, they made absolutely certain you have one of the best experiences ever!

We had an awesome dining experience at the Library Kitchen two nights in a row. From our welcome at the door, our awesome waitress Haley, our before dinner drinks, appetizer, main entrée to dessert, it was one of our favorite places to dine.

Our dinner this past Friday at the Library was over the top delicious and fun! The atmosphere was cozy perfection! We sat at a high top table in the kitchen area! Karen, our server, greeted us with enthusiasm and recommendations! We started with the Pumpkin soup, mushroom soup and lobster lollipops and shared tastes with the table of 4! Each were tasty but I'd have to say the Pumpkin soup and lollipops were my favorites. 2 of us had the Halibut special, my friend had the trout, Ribeye for my husband and all were cooked to perfection with amazing compliments of Fall vegetables! Wishing we had ordered the bread pudding but we did have yummy Mango Sorbet w/liqueur and cheesecake bites from the Chef for our birthday celebrations! Chef Johannes made our night by visiting our table and blessing us with his vibrant personality!!! Cheers! Can't wait to return!

The owners are artists that bring something very unique to cashers. The environment is inspiring with an arts and crafts light hearted flare. The Chef’s/owner’s dishes are creative and amazingly delicious.A local’s favorite, and a visitor’s experience often talked about! The pictures of locals & friends on the wall say it all…Come Enjoy!

Our family loves the Library Kitchen and Bar!! Chef Johannes and his wife, Liz, ensure every visit is an epicurean delight! Every dish is both beautiful to behold and extremely delicious. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Our server, Karen, took care of every request with care and consideration on our last visit. We feel this restaurant gets an A+++ in our books. We highly recommend it to all our friends and family!!

This is an amazing restaurant. Johannes and Liz do a fantastic job of catering to the clientele and making them feel like their presence was expected.

We had Shannon for a server, and she made us feel like we were part of the family. Ask for her, but if she can’t wait on your party, there are plenty of competent servers willing to cater to your needs.

This place is amazing! We went two nights in a row and tried almost everything on the menu! The food is off the chain! The art and atmosphere was great! And the bartender, Matthew and good wife were amazing as well! Highly recommend!

Always the BEST food and service in Cashiers or anywhere along Hwy 64! The chefs creations are uniquely prepared and beyond delicious!

My wife and I were traveling in the area for waterfalls and leaf peeping. We stayed the night in the area and chose library kitchen and bar for dinner. It was one of the smartest decisions we’ve made in a while. Trinity our server was friendly, informative and helpful. We shared the escargot with 18 year old sherry, my God, it was more than delicious! I had the Wiener schnitzel with a mushroom sauce that was out of this world. My wife had the trout and loved it. We shared the bread pudding with chocolate and it was the cherry on the top of a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor and dine at this restaurant.

Dinner was amazing. Picked the restaurant out of curiosity due to flavor pairings from menu. Our server Sydney was perfect. The service was top notch. She recommended every dish we tried and we were not disappointed. Compliments to the chef on our dishes. The bread pudding and wild mushroom soup were delectable.
