I had the pleasure of eating at the bar at The Library after a long day of hiking throughout the Highland and Cashiers area. This is exactly the type of modern and welcoming vibe that I was looking for.Matthew at the bar is the man! He really takes care of his customers and he is a very knowledgeable bar tender.I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will be back! The duck was fantastic!

The food was excellent, really wonderful duck. I would come back again for the food; however, I would ask to sit outside. The interior artwork is disturbing, angry, and gives off schizophrenia vibes. Again - really great food.

We had dinner at The Library Kitchen and Bar in Sapphire NC. We sat at the bar and Matthew Merric was our “tour guide”for the evening.The cocktails and appetizers including Gulf “Oysters Rockefeller”and Pimento Cheese Dip with house baked Lavash Bread were delicious.Our entrees included: local Rainbow Trout fillet, roasted Muscovy Duck breast and Steak Frites - seared Tenderloin Medallion. We ended with several desserts and Espresso Martinis.Matthew along with entire restaurant provided us with a delightful dinner.

My husband and I celebrated my 50th birthday here 2/3/2024. It was most likely the best restaurant experience we have ever had! We enjoyed the experience so much! We sat over- looking the kitchen and had great conversation with all of the staff. We met Chef Johannes and had a nice conversation with him as if we were old friends. Everything was phenomenal from the food, atmosphere and staff! We will definitely return!

She made our New Year's Eve celebration truly memorable.Liz Klapdohr, the co-owner and restaurant general manager, exudes a remarkable talent for making guests feel genuinely welcome. Her warm hospitality left an indelible impression, contributing to the overall positive atmosphere.Chef Johannes Klapdohr, the co-owner, proved to be a master of his craft. The food was not only delicious but also a testament to his culinary expertise. The menu showcased a perfect blend of flavors, making our celebration a gastronomic delight.The restaurant's location at 184 Cherokee Trail, Sapphire, NC 28774, provided a captivating atmosphere. Love this place! Top notch service and menu. Every time we visit there is something new and exciting to try. The history and decor of the restaurant great. Love the special touch at the end of your meal, your check comes in a library book filled with nice comments from previous guests. Always a pleasant experience.

We were very glad to have made last minute reservations here. We stayed on Lake Toxaway but this was worth the short drive. The menu was diverse, a nice mix of eclectic and staple foods. Everything we had was delicious and well-portioned. The restaurant was very busy during the holiday week so service was a little slow but we enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the chefs work. We enjoyed conversing with them, they were all very kind and personable. Highly recommend!

We tried this restaurant on our first nite in the area. The food and service was outstanding ( we loved the small plates). We like it so much we went a second time. Just outstanding food. The bread pudding, Wild mushroom soup, and seared scallops pasta Just to die for.

On a short visit to the Sapphire Valley area, we ate here twice; the food and service were excellent on both visits. We loved the small plates concept as it allowed us to try several different items each time. The bread pudding dessert is so good, we got it both times. Also highly recommend the Quail Schnitzel and the Scallops with Tagliatelle.
