Absolutely unreasonable behavior from the woman running the front. I have been a customer at Chen’s for well over 10 years, but never again. I always get the house special lo mein but substitute beef instead of shrimp, because I can’t eat shellfish. Tonight, she absolutely refused to make the substitution. No explanation or alternative given, just shook her head at me and said no. After I’ve gotten the same dish here for over 10 years? Your dismissive attitude and refusal to make a simple substitution just lost you a long-time customer.

Chen's is a staple in Shelby. The food is top tier and has been for as long as I can remember. I have eaten many things on the menu since I've been in Shelby and I have a few recommendations. The Mongolian Beef is exquisite. The pot stickers are my go-to though. Either as an appetizer or a meal the pot stickers are a must have if you go to Chen's. The service is friendly and quick. The prices are a little higher than ideal but well worth it if you want good food.
