I ordered an assortment of croissants and also a few of there other pastries and to be honest it was a waist of money. none were fresh and even the kids tried them and didn't touch another. I ended up throwing them out. Save your money and you will be happier getting your baked goods at a grocery store. I

The very patient server answered lots of questions about which items were gluten free and which items contained nuts. She was very sweet.
I ordered the Gluten free New York Cheesecake.

When I returned to my automobile and since my husband was driving, I decided to eat the dessert that I so carefully selected. As soon as I opened the box, I saw what looked like a tiny piece of a nut. I thought perhaps there was a cross-contamination from using a knife to cut some other item followed by cutting mine. I didn't try tasting it since I am allergic to all nuts. However, I dug around and discovered what appeared to be a crust made of nuts. I called the bakery and asked whether or not this cheesecake contained nuts and was told that it had a pecan crust. I returned the item to the store for a full refund.

I learned a valuable lesson. Never assume that something doesn't contain an allergen just because you've never before seen that item, such as New York Cheesecake, made with the allergen in question. I should have been more careful. It never occurred to me that nuts would be used in that recipe. I need to be a more careful consumer.

The person who sold this dessert to me felt horrible about the mistake. She was unaware of the ingredients and would never have sold something harmful to me on purpose. I really liked her and told her that it wasn't all her fault.

I would recommend that the owner of this beautiful little bakery place little allergen signs on every item in the display cases. In addition, a list of all ingredients could be placed on the backside of the signs. This could ensure questions would always be answered accurately.

I love that this bakery and ice cream shop is offering gluten-free and sugar-free items. I hope they continue to do so while providing additional information about possible allergens. I wish this bakery much success in the future and hope that I may purchase a delicious allergen-free dessert in the near future.

Hello, I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit to the Burney’s location in Smithfield. When I came in, I wasn’t greeted at all, and I honestly felt uncomfortable. I asked about the sugar-free options and was told, rather rudely, “the ones down there,” without any additional help or explanation.

I’ve visited this location several times before and have even brought my church’s summer program here, so this experience was very disappointing. I believe in supporting local businesses, but customer service truly matters, and this encounter did not reflect the kind of environment that makes people feel welcome.

I’m sharing this with the hope that it can be addressed and improved. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
