I've missed Firehouse! For 6 years, I've lived in Vermont. Finally, I saw the sign for this one here in North Carolina and had to stop.

This place used to be so good, but lately it has not been as good quality. Both times we have been lately, they have not had several main ingredients. Definitely a disappoint as this used to be one of my favorite places to get a sub.

It seems only online orders take priority over in-person orders. It took 15 minutes before preparing my order. Customer service is not what it used to be.

I placed an online order at the start of my lunch break. I got an in app confirmation and email confirmation. The money was also withdrawn from my card. I wasted my entire lunch break waiting. They said they never got payment. I showed every bit of information I had showing my order and the charge. I tried to be understanding because I have been a restaurant manager in the past for years. The manager/owner whoever she was says “I’m doing the right thing by giving you free food so when you figure out if you paid me or not you can come back”. I am not one to ask for a handout or free anything. I hardly even redeem my points and firehouse is my favorite sub place. I have NEVER had any issues ordering and have from multiple locations. But I can promise the charge is in process to be disputed and I will not be back to Smithfield location. When I am being understanding and patient, it would be nice to be treated the same and not have a snarky tone as if I’m trying to steal something from you. Respect goes a long ways.

Almost forget how good fire house Subs are, we had some bad ones in other state, but this one is the to go firehouse. Outside looks old and scary, but one in the skop it's nice and clean. The guy behind the counter is a character, sounds grouchy but is actually pretty nice. The sandwiches are tasty and steamy hot, will definitely go back next time when we are around the area.

The food was decent, I tried something different. I had the spices Cajun sandwich, it was good, I rather had my normal Italian but I wanted to try something different. Only down thing was the flavors needed to be filled.
