It's been a rough few weeks for small business owners in Southport since the storm and local road issues haven't helped. The other day instead of waiting in traffic I stopped in to check on a friend & fellow restaurant owner at Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar. Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar offers excellent service and tasty food in a beautifully decorated atmosphere. The Miso soup, edamame, and crab rangoons are standouts. Rolls, such as the Rockin Roll and Super Duper Roll, are also popular. Fresh sashimi, including options like salmon, is tender and delicious. The reasonable prices make it a great value, though some dishes are on the pricier side. The hibachi is generally good, but it may sometimes have undercooked veggies, and the beef hibachi can be chewy. The food is beautifully presented, and the appetizers are all good, with sushi being excellent and the wonton soup being a highlight. The staff is friendly, with servers like Holly and Sophia providing attentive service, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience.
