The Cove Restaurant Reviews
Great place to be, my favorite spot to go in Holden Beach. Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere and such terrific service, I couldn’t imagine a better place to enjoy an evening out. GIVE THE COVE A TRY!!!
Last night was a terrible experience for us at the Cove. We were regular customers when Maryann was the owner. We looked forward to trying it now. Never again!
There was an almost empty dining room much unlike it was before. We wondered what was wrong. Now we know!

Stopped in on a whim when another placed closed early. Very happy we did!! Service was really good! Food was tasty. It was a little loud but there was a lot of people (not surprisingly). Will definitely go back. Great staff. Great food!!

The Cove Restaurant is a hidden gem in Holden, offering consistently delicious food and mostly good service in a comfortable, hometown atmosphere. The menu features a variety of options, including seafood, steaks, and salads, with standout dishes like the Cove Ribeye, Chicken Casa Bella, burgers, and the Seafood Linguine. The Sea Scallops and Daily Specials are also wonderful choices. Recent reviews highlight the quality of food, with dishes such as crab cakes, shrimp scampi, and fried Calamari receiving high praise for their taste and large portions at reasonable prices. The new management, a young couple, is described as gracious and welcoming. The staff is friendly and motivated to ensure a good experience, although they can get overwhelmed during busy times. Food is fresh, prepared with love, and served hot, even for to-go orders, which are limited during peak times to help serve dine-in guests better. The atmosphere can get lively and loud at times, making it a great place for a good crowd. The bar offers excellent pours, and unique drinks like the basil cucumber cooler are recommended. Larger groups are advised to call ahead due to limited seating. Overall, The Cove remains a local favorite worth trying, especially if you arrive early to avoid a wait. The owner is very engaged in daily operations, and the place is highly recommended for both dinner and drinks.
