Stopped by Big Nick’s BBQ on a recent road trip and was blown away. For such a small shop, they’re putting out seriously impressive BBQ. The brisket tacos were simple but packed with flavor, the turkey was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the fried okra hit the spot. Portions are generous, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want in a classic BBQ joint—no frills, just great food.
What really stood out was the owner taking time to talk with us. He genuinely cared about our experience and even asked how his BBQ stacked up to other spots we’ve visited. That kind of pride and passion shows in every bite.
This place has officially become a must-stop on any road trip I take within a hundred miles. Highly recommend

The pulled pork has to be the best I've had in a long time. The baked beans were delicious. Ordered a kids rib plate for my daughter and they were so peppery that not even I could handle how hot they were, though they were delicious, they were hot, so be careful before ordering ribs for a child! The pulled pork was so good we've had it two weekends in a row!

Small in size, but very big in value and flavor. We ate here for the first time last week, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is pretty small as far as seating goes, but we were able to find a table for six fairly quickly and placed our orders. Everything we ordered tasted great, arrived exactly as ordered, and had large portions. We ordered a wide range of items including pulled pork, ribs, brisket mac and cheese, hushpuppies, brisket and cheese egg rolls, chicken tenders, French fries, baked beans and brisket tacos, so you can see we were able to sample quite a few items. We would definitely order everything we had again, and we will definitely return in the future.

We were in Sylva just for the day, all the way from SC. We stopped in for lunch and the food and service was excellent! Very good bbq and the staff was extremely nice. Would love to go there again someday.

We were passing through town and wanted Bar-B-Q. I'm so glad we found Nick’s BBQ! The ribs and bakebeans were some of the best we’ve ever had! It’s a cute small place with a friendly atmosphere. The staff was supper nice, too. I would highly recommend this place if you’re passing through or staying in Sylva!

The food is always delicious no matter what you get. Service is high quality. Everyone leaves happy and satisfied. We always make a stop here when we come up to the area.
So I normally order from Big Nicks BBQ through DoorDash. Their food is amazing. There isn’t a single item I did not like. At times, I would get only 1 SC mustard based bbq sauce when I always order 3, was the only downfall. HOWEVER, I called immediately after I placed my order on DoorDash and spoke with John advising him of the above information. I know it’s just a small issue and I honestly felt bad calling to make sure I had the 3 sauces that I ordered and John went OVER AND BEYOND. He was so kind and helpful. And even left me a note on the back of my receipt and many mustard bbq sauces to make up for the past which most likely did not even involve him. Thank you so much John! Excellent service!! Give this man a raise! 😊❤️

Best BBQ I've had all trip. Pork sandwich, coleslaw, and banana pudding to top it off. So good I got a second order to go.
My husband and I stopped at Big Nick's for dinner when we were traveling. We both got the pulled pork platter. There was absolutely no fat, the tater salad and cole slaw were home made and delicious. The hush puppies were great as well.
