Uwharrie Mercantile Reviews
Coffee was amazing! Such a welcoming place!
The new protein shakes which have recently been added to the menu are a must try, must have!! I had the Very Berry today & added a shot of coconut. It was wonderful, I highly recommend it. So nice to see our local small town businesses have a variety on their menu not to mention the welcoming staff Mrs. Dana has!!
I’m almost afraid to share that this is the BEST place in NC to go for Pimento Cheese! I love going every week for my container and if they don’t have it, one of the friendly employees calls to let me know when they have a container available! My two year old son could eat all of the Pimento Cheese in one sitting if you’d allow! How many two year olds do you know that like Pimento Cheese? That’s right it’s that good! The staff are always friendly and helpful! They also...read full review

Uwharrie Mercantile is a charming coffee shop and store housed in a historic mercantile space. Visitors can step back in time and enjoy whimsical goods, local baked treats, and a full espresso bar in a family-friendly atmosphere. The original interior elements, such as the floor and ceiling, create an awesome ambiance. Recently added to the menu are protein shakes, including the popular Very Berry with a shot of coconut, which many customers highly recommend. The staff is helpful and friendly, with some employees calling customers when their favorite items, like Pimento Cheese, are available. The coffee is incredible, and the apple fritters are so good they might bring a tear to your eye. The frozen drinks and sweet tea are also favorites. The store is a great place for shopping and enjoying tasty treats, making it a must-visit spot in Troy.
Customers have shared that the Pistachio latte is a great choice, especially for cooler weather, and the apple fritter is loaded with apples—a pleasant surprise since many places don’t have much apple. The pumpkin spice chai or pumpkin coffee is also highly praised, described as a step above other pumpkin-flavored drinks, including Starbucks. Visitors find the store to be a charming throwback, rustic and nostalgic, reminiscent of places in Connecticut. Many plan to return to try more of the seasonal menu and enjoy the friendly, helpful staff. Despite some confusion about services like coffee flights and lunch availability on Saturdays, the overall experience remains warm and inviting.
