Bigg’s French-Italian Eatery is an absolute hidden gem and a small Mom & Pop restaurant with about 40–50 seats, so reservations are recommended. Everything is made fresh daily, especially the pasta, and the food absolutely delivers. The escargot and foie gras are dishes that you cannot find anywhere and are difficult to prepare, and Bigg’s nailed it. The steak au poive and coquille st jaques surpassed expectations, and the quality of these dishes is worth paying double for. The French dip sandwich came on half a loaf of French bread, was nicely toasted with grilled onions and mushrooms, and was packed with so much flavor, while the French onion soup was rich and delicious. The Chicken Parmesan with pesto basil sauce had tender chicken, and the fresh garlic bread was excellent. The rum bread pudding had the perfect balance of sweetness. The service was a standout, courteous and professional, and the entire experience was phenomenal. The only slight bit of constructive criticism would be to have more options of sides, as the only choice was chips. The seared oyster was undercooked and without sauce, but the Steak Dianne was wonderful, tender, and full of flavor, and the tomato bruschetta canapes had fantastic flavor. Overall, it is a must-try near Greenville or Washington, NC.
