The place looks really good. Cleaned up new inside. Good slaw. Stopped there. The shrimp was cooked to a rubbery chewy consistency, the fish was overcooked and dry, and the scallops had come so small they were smaller than my finger. The girl at the register was about as fast as a turtle but the food came out super fast meaning it was ordered in a basket under hot lamp and sent out. I gave this place a three because it’s new they’ve clean it up but it really deserved one! And, for the price it Should have been a lot better!

Only been here for lunch but have enjoyed each visit. Tried the oyster sandwich and the oysters were lightly breaded and tasty. During the week they have daily specials.

I'm an out of stater from Pennsylvania vacationing in Belhaven, NC for the week. I Always enjoyed eating crabs back home so I was willing to give this place a shot. I ordered a dozen (12) medium crabs. The total was 55 bucks and I even added a 15% tip to pay a grand total of $62 bucks. I understand crabs are expensive but I am willing to pay that price because I enjoy eating them. I got home and was amazed how good they were. The reason I am giving a 1 star review is because when I got down to the last crabs in the bag, I counted the shells and I was only given 8 crabs! I eat crabs pretty quick but when I was down to two left after about 45 minutes I knew there was no way I was given 12 crabs. I'll give the benefit of the doubt if it was 11 or maybe 10 , but 4 short of a dozen?!! Come on. The famous line "You get what you pay for" does not apply in this situation. Almost 7 dollars a crab. Unbelievable. Give your customers what they pay for. Will not recommend to anyone whether from the area or out of town.

If you like fried seafood and we do, the oysters here were large and plump and fried to perfection. Order at the counter and the food is deliver to your table. A little out of our way but we will return.

Definitely a place you want to avoid. Incredibly slow service for a sparsely populated restaurant. Food came out wrong originally, then when corrected you could tell they took grilled food and threw it in the fryer. Another person in my party's food was cold when delivered to the table. Take your chances, this place used to be good

The quality of these crabs is amazing. All good weight and clean. As a former commercial crabber (in my youth on the bay) I can say these are great blue crabs! And I can preorder and pick them up in Durham instead of driving east then back.

I got literally 12 fried pickles chips for $6.50. That’s .54166667 cents per pickle. No ranch either. My dad got a better deal for a $20 small shrimp and oyster plate than I did.

My husband and I ate at The Crab Shack tonight. The fried soft shell crabs were delicious! The shrimp were delicious. The slaw was delicious. The homemade sweet potato casserole was delicious. Everything was delicious!

The seafood was awesome: raw oysters (large and very fresh), fried oysters and fried cajun style catfish. Combine this with a helpful and friendly staff, this was a relaxing dinner experience.
