“The Hackney is my husband’s and my favorite restaurant. The food is prepared in an artistic way and of course, delicious! The special events where they bring the fishermen in to talk about their catch is a wonderful experience. We’ve been going there 4 years and are always pleased with our meal. They also have fantastic cocktails!!“

“My wife and I and another couple visited Washington NC recently and had breakfast a Pam’s Diner. We were greeted in a very friendly manner, our server was very personable and professional. Everybody made sure to speak and make us feel welcome. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The grits were perfect. The coffee was excellent. The folk at Pam’s Dinner really know something about southern hospitality. I highly recommend this little resturant in Little Washington.“

“A local gem. I've been a happy customer of Backwater Jack's for years, sometimes visiting 2-3 times a week. The fun atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely, good hearted owner make for a great visit everytime. The menu is simple, but delicious and affordable, especially the kids meals. It is my favorite place to tell out of town visitors to go, especially during evenings when they almost always have live music.“

“Food was pretty good! Ordered the shrimp, scallops, crab cakes, and trout. All of them were good. The orders came out faster than anything I’d ever seen at a non-fast food restaurant. The only improvement is I wish the food had been fried a little longer and harder.“

“I only go from 11-2:30 or 4-7. I LOVE the food especially the fried chicken wings. The salad bar is not big but does have the essentials that are ALWAYS fresh. Everybody that works there are super nice. Everything looks clean. My favorites are the fried chicken wings, egg-drop soup, salads, roast pork, and gun-fire chicken! They have a cold bar too that has fruit and desserts. There are always 3-4 kinds of soup. I've tried everything though and NEVER been disappointed. Not very expensive and worth the drive to Chocowinity.“
