Literally the slowest
McDonald’s you will ever come across. They honestly don’t even try to be fast. I’ve sat in line here for over an hour in the past.
I have been waiting for everrrrrrrr and they still have me waiting at the speaker box 20 minutes later

Just ordered from the drive through, it took 45 minutes for the mcdonalds in west jefferson nc to take 3 people's orders, and extra half hour after I ordered for them to actually give me my food, they also got my order wrong, I ordered hot mustard with the chicken tenders and a plain double cheese burger, they gave me honey mustard and didn't even include a cheeseburger despite the fact I was charged, the food wasn't even that good there's onions on my filet o fish and my fries were all soggy, worst fast food experience of my life
All of my Double Cheeseburger meal was fresh and good.
Ever since the new owner took over this store has gone downhill hard. Evening is the worst I've seen yet. Hands down needs to be restaffed. Grew up here in Ashe and it's never been this bad in all 20 years I've came to this restaurant

Memorial Day weekend of 2023 and the lobby is closed and one lane open ... pitiful!!
This is May of 2025 and this McDonalds isn’t much better than it was 2 years ago! Now they have the lobby open and two lanes open but there are times you still wait 15 to 20 minutes in the drive-thru line! They have only one person operating the drive-thru so they take turns from the inner lane to the outer lane. Sometimes your order is right sometimes not! People come to a fast food restaurant and go through the drive-thru for the quick service. If that is what you’re looking for you may want to go on down to Jefferson if you see the lines are long. I don’t know what the problem is … no help, poor management, or what but there does seem to be one.
I can't recall a single time in the last year that I've went to this McDonald's and *not* had them mess up at least something on my order. And we usually order using the app, no less.
We've stopped going to this location entirely as a result; it's hard to blame the employees with as little as they're paid, but clearly the new management is doing something wrong.

We've lived in the area a little over 3 years now. Almost every single time we go here there's an issue. Once I order the #7 (2 CHEESEburger meal) I was asked by the young boy behind the counter "Do you want cheese on those?" I stared at him for a second thinking he was joking. He wasn't. I just said "Well, that's usually why they're called cheeseburgers." Another incident was in drive thru. My order was wrong and even after trying to tell the person at the first window (after I paid and was able to SEE the receipt because what she told me wasn't correct) was told to go to the next window and explain it to them. Explained to the young boy the issue (I was charged for something I didn't order and there were certain things that were supposed to be modified) he kept saying he didn't understand so I asked him to get someone who could. He brought a young girl to the window who immediately had an attitude about it. I explained to her what the issue was. She looked at me like I was stupid and asked me what she wanted me to do about it. I asked her to refund me for the meal I didn't actually order. She got livid at me and refunded an entirely DIFFERENT meal than anything on my order at all. When I called her out on that she told me she didn't care that's what she rang up and what the refund was and refused to correct it. I proceeded with a fee choice words and left. I did call corporate office in Hickory and reported the incident. It was corrected by them. If we had better options I'd go there unfortunately in rural areas there's limited availability. It's just sad this particular location is this awful.
Parking: Parking lot set up is AWFUL. Not functional or safe for pedestrians or drivers.
