Smoky Mountain Barbecue

This restaurant is a drive through with no seating except the provided back porch. I got the BBQ platter with fried okra and sweet potato casserole and it comes with hush puppies. The BBQ was seasoned well and had the perfect moisture. They asked if I needed BBQ sauce. Coming to a new place the answer is always yes, but it is delicious without it. The fried okra tasted as it should and the sweet potato casserole was a bit sweet for me (I saved it for dessert), but I'm not likely to make either of these for myself so I am happy with my choices.

We were in town from Philadelphia for a wedding and saw your place and thought there’s no way we can pass by without trying it and we’re so glad we did! Delicious sandwiches and fries and peach tea! Thanks for some great authentic country BBQ!

Traveling through NC and found this bbq place! Although they are too short staffed for people to sit inside, you can still sit outside on a porch like setting. The employees were very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to greet us and made sure that we have great service. Their bbq was very tasty! They make 2 different sauces of Bbq that were delicious. Definitely a cute bbq place!

Can't rate higher, food was excellent quality, quickly delivered to us in the drive thru, and for under $25 for two hungry adults it couldn't be beat. We decided to bring our meal on the porch to eat and the staff was so kind and helpful; asking if we needed any refills or anything else. The fried chicken had such an amazing battering and a crunch that made heads turn. The side salad was pretty, and the grilled cheese made my vegetarian girlfriend cry of joy. Will be returning when back in the state.

My boyfriend gave the fried chicken a 9.7 out of 10. I had the salad and the grilled cheese and would give it a solid 9 out of 10. Really sweet staff and really amazing place to stop at if you’re hungry. Support small businesses!!!!

I dont normaly post reviews, but this is a must. I live in Nj and had to travell down to take care of my grandmothers affairs after she passed and afyer 10hrs of drivinf my wife and i decided on SMBBQ for our dinner. Babyback and beans were awesome, but the potatoe salad....my grandmother had dementia for many years and i always loves her tater salad, one bite sent me down memory lane. It is 100% to a T just like my grandmother made. I would take the 10hr drive just for that!

This is our go-to for barbeque. We drive 2 1/2 hours to West Jefferson, NC, for barbeque. We found this restaurant many years ago on one of our motorcycle trips on the BR Parkway. Everything we have tried has been so good. The owner is there most of the time and interacts with his guests. They are always consistent; employees are polite.
