Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn WILMINGTON LOCATION

I love Flaming Amy’s for a truly comforting meal. Almost anything can be made vegan. The burritos are really flavorful and stuffed to capacity. I wish they had some healthier options, but that isn’t really the point. 😉 Updated from previous review on 2026-01-03

My neighbor had been telling us about Flaming Amy's and their Thanksgiving churkey burrito. While out shopping, my husband and I decided to stop in. During November, the restaurant offers a special burrito called the churkey burrito. We were there in the last day. They pre make these and once they are sold for the day, that's it. By the time we left, they were sold out! This is counter service, so we go up and place our order. Of course we both get the churkey and make it a combo with chips and a drink. They give us our cups and we go find a seat. I go and grab the drinks and get a laugh out of the pictures of actor Ice T over the tea. They do have a salsa bar for your chips and we go grab some mild salsa. This burrito is crazy good. It included roasted turkey breast, mashed red skin potatoes, and dressing. Then it is deep fried and covered in an incredible jalapeño creamy gravy with homemade cranberry salsa on the side. OMG this thing is huge. And the gravy french 💋. This has a bit of a kick to it, but it isn't hot. My husband is a purist so he wasn't a fan. But I'll go get one next year with my neighbor. Now this place is definitely a hippie dippy liberal place and I am a moderate conservative, but it's all good. Our meal was around $40, but I had enough for lunch the next day. Parking here is free. I want to go back soon and try their regular food. I can see why my neighbor praised this.

Darn it. Brought friends in from out of town. Asked for tomatoes/lettuce on my burrito. All rice and some chicken but ONE half slice of tomato and some shreds of lettuce (and you pay extra). No sour cream that came with it, and a paper-thin spread of melted cheese. I don't think my friends were happy either. Next time we'll go to Moes or elsewhere for a good burrito and sauce bar. This place is a tourist trap. This place USED to be better.

A Disappointing Atmosphere: Not Family-Friendly

I found this place too toxic for my family. The loud music made it nearly impossible to have a conversation, creating an overwhelming and unwelcoming environment. Because of the atmosphere alone, I chose not to stay or try the food, so I can’t speak on its quality. However, if you're looking for a calm, family-friendly dining experience, this may not be the best choice.

Got the Nachos Carnivor, bf got the Godzilladilla. Was good. The claw machines are a rip-off.

One of my favorite places in Wilmington for years! We love "Flamy's"! Always great burritos and homemade salsa and queso and chips. Can get busy but line moves super fast! Love the atmosphere! And music!

Great food, cool quirky place and awesome staff. We always make it a point to stop in to eat when we come into town. It's tex-mex with a twist, the flavor profiles they offer make it unique and they have an awesome salsa bar that's one of a kind. Highly recommend Flaming Amy's.

Salsa bar was very good, some excellent flavors in there. Wasabi avocado, ginger peach, and flaming hot were standouts. Chips very good and come with everything. Made in wheat oil so not gluten free. Burritos were decent, not amazing but solid. Good value for the money, prices very reasonable. Order at counter but food brought to us and tables bussed, all very good.
