Just a great neighborhood seafood place with a varied menu, friendly staff and excellently prepared dishes. Hieronymus was first restaurant I went to coming to Wilmington in early 1990's and it's still going strong due to consistent quality of food and service. Service, food = IMPECCABLE. I have to admit I was a little worried when I pulled up beside the Waffle House but, my concerns were soon resolved. The food, service, and experience was wonderful!
While we have really enjoyed the restaurant in the past, the quantity and quality of food has changed significantly in the past several months. our waiter Matt is always attentive but on FRI night there was apparently a large party in the separate room which required additional staffing. I dont think management properly prepared for this as the main dining room did see delays from cocktails thru meal. Believe the kitchen and bar were over worked and needed extra hands on deck....
