Nippy's Soul Food Restaurant

The food was off the chain excellent matter what you got off the menu very tasty. It was, if I cooked it myself very soulful.

Vegetarian options: Fried pork chops were cooked excellently. The fish was moist and tasty, and lima beans and okra were off the chain. Very good restaurant. Encourage you to try it, you won't be wasting your money.

I came expecting a completely different restaurant. Nippy's is now available Restobar. The service was great. Order that pineapple lemonade. I ordered the pork chops with collards and mac and cheese and it did not disappoint. The cornbread was chef's kiss! I will be returning!

If I could give 10 stars I would. I came all the way from Allentown pa just to try this food and it DELIVERED. Mr Webo the owner, was on the road w his food truck (webos food truck) and one of his relatives was around when we were looking to see if we could get into the restaurant. She kindly called him up, told him we were on the hunt, and he said he’d wait for us along with his staff over in Burgaw NC. WOW I’ve never experienced such love and kindness in service at all. We got over there, met with the utmost kindness and warmth, we ordered our food and LET ME SAY this PA girl was impressed. The homemade juice was amazing. My friend with me usually hates strawberry and she had that, it was amazing. She loved it. I had the pineapple and it was truly refreshing. Now the food:

What I had:
Fried chicken wings. - cooked to perfection and seasoned extrem well. Hot and crunchy, juicy, crispy literally everything you want in a chicken when u ask for fried chicken.
Mac n cheese: yummy, gooey, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. Had it for breakfast this morning leftovers. So good. Has a chicken taste to it I wondered if the pasta was boiled with the chicken broth they had. If so, that’s genius.
Chicken and rice: seasoned, hot, excellent. No skimping on the chicken in there either. It was amazing. The broth they cooked it with was so flavorful it pulled everything together and married the whole dish.

I’ve never had southern food before unless is was made up north where I’m from. And that was disappointing. BUT WEBO RESTORED my love for soul food. You can just tell this meal was made with LOVE. cooking with love. I grew up in an Arabic home. You can TELL when something is prepped that way, and cooked that way. I’m honored to have the opportunity to try it and I will be singing webos praises all the way up north.

Employees were very friendly. They encouraged buffet; We see why...they wanted to get rid of it. The food did not taste fresh and everything was salty. Soul food does not need to be salty. Shrimp, fish and chicken overcooked and tasted like it had been there a while and all tasted the same like exact seasoning was used for everything. The mac n cheese was straight out of a box with fake cheese. The best part of my meal with the tea and cake. Disappointing.

this place is not open. was hoping to get some soul food while visiting down here but its not open. sign on the door says closed for renovations. google says its open. no one answers the phone when you call, phone just rings once and hangs up. sucks if you’re visiting and only have access to rideshare apps. waste of money to take an uber only to find out the spot is closed.

The food was absolutely delicious. I have to say that was the best fried chicken and Mac & cheese.I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back!!

Other than being out of five menu items when we visited and being served on paper plates and plastic flatware (why I didn’t give 5 stars), everything was really good—seasoned just right, ample portions, very friendly staff. Hubby LOVED the smothered turkey wings. I had the fried shrimp. Would visit again. Hate I didn’t take pics.

This not real soul food. What I and my wife experienced was not good, I am a chef and have been cooking for 43 years. And this is the worst I have ever eaten , our food served on plastic plate. After spending 36 .00 . My wife ordered baked spaghetti it was not baked spaghetti.we ended up taken to go. And put it in the garbage. It wasn't worth the time or anything. We and others that I know. Will not ever eat there again. Please you make out better eating at McDonald's

I never leave reviews but my second experience I felt one was definitely needed. I went back because the first time I had the oxtails they were great. I went back this week and got a plate for my kids and I. When I bit into the middle it was ICE COLD. When I called to tell them the response I got was “the chef said he’s sorry, just put it in the microwave for 15 minutes”. As a chef myself this is one of the worst responses I’ve ever heard. I will not be returning! Nor will I refer anyone else.
