Why Service and atmosphere were pretty good, but the food was horrid

Fantastic food and atmosphere

Great food, we went at an off-peak time between lunch and dinner on our way home from the beach. We were pleasantly surprised at their creative and original menu options, so we all ordered different things and shared. It was very quiet since we were eating at an odd hour, but it looked like the kind of place that would create a fun atmosphere.

Wanted to try something different and man did it pay off! This place has a very cozy feel and the food was outrageously good. Had the rabbit bites and the pizza with peaches, duck breast prosciutto, jalapeño, mint and smoked goat cheese. The only constructive criticism I’d give is that the menu changes rapidly and doesn’t match up with the website so picking what you want to try beforehand won’t work. Was slightly disappointed they took kangaroo off the menu but the food we had was new, innovative and delicious!

Food here is EXCELLENT! So glad we tried it!!! Customer service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Will absolutely be back!!

First impression without food was not great. All the tables were dirty, the benches were dirty, and it took a while to get water.

I saw the cook tossing my son’s pizza dough in the back and I was “ooooooo this gonna slap”. AND IT DID. The ranch, SLAPPED. Our burgers, AMAING, because the buns are homemade, they disintegrated under the burger juices. The fr each fries had great flavor but were far too crispy to be 100% edible, I could only eat 1/3 of them.
I went to go look at icecream, and most the containers were empty and had frozen ice on it but I really wanted to try some, they looked good. Basically it just looked like closing crew didn’t do their job. Other than that DELICIOUS, we’ll be back.

We experienced the most amazing food and service last night! We had the wild boar soup, lamp pops with turnip purée, Kangaroo steak and Duck confit both with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts! EVERYTHING, and I mean everything was on point! The most awesome flavors and the seasoning was perfect! Thank you so much!!! We will be back!!! ☺️

Wonderful Host, very knowledgeable, Great place to warm up a date for a night on the beach or even downtown....Food was delicious of course..Thanks for a truly great birthday evening

Let me start by saying the fried cheese sticks were very good and the marinara that came with them was excellent. Other than that very disappointed. Burgers were dry overcooked. Salad was limp
Cannot address atmosphere or service because we had Takeout. We arrived for pick up 10 minutes before they told us it would be ready. The food was sitting waiting. I don’t know how long it had been there.

One of 3 places I suggest to any friend visiting Wilmington. Great, original menu that is always executed perfectly. The fried cheese beats any cheese stick in town, and the New Sensation pie is my go to exotic comfort food. Prices are extremely reasonable for the portions, and drinks aren’t over inflated like many other spots. Give it a shot and order boldly!

Now that the tourists have left for the fall and winter my wife and I can stop in to beach area restaurants without fighting crowds! First time here and glad we stopped in! Matt took care of everything including the delicious Boar Soup, my wife’s Elk Burger and my Duck Confit sandwich! All delicious and enjoyed $2 off on glasses of wine!
