So disappointed, I met a friend for appetizers and drinks. Salad was good, but we both had the Beef and Brussels appetizer and we were both disappointed. We were never asked how we wanted the beef cooked, so I probably shouldn’t have been surprised when it came out well done and very tough. We shared a dessert (cheesecake) which was delicious, but after one appetizer, 1/2 dessert and 3 glasses of wine my bill alone was almost $80 ?.
Disappointed. Had a reservation for my wife's birthday for tonight made through Open Table. Got an email a couple hours before saying the restaurant had cancelled the reservation. Pretty tough trying to find another place to eat on short notice.
Restaurant has closed . No service, no food and no notification for customers with reservations
Made reservations for each evening during Easter week. Showed up for our reservation and the doors we locked with a sign saying closed because of staffing. Would have appreciated a call so we could have made other arrangements. Went across the street and we were graciously accommodated by Port Land Grille.

Port City Chophouse closed two days before reservations and one day after the reservations were confirmed. No notice from either Open Table or the restaurant.
I love this restaurant and made this reservation assuming the same great past experiences however after confirming our reservation we arrive at the restaurant only to find a sign on the door saying they had closed a day prior due to staffing. I completely understand the difficulties restaurants are facing but at the very least inform open table and do not ask for a confirmation. On the day of the reservation when you are already closed. I will try again but was disappointed as we were celebrating a special event.
We arrived and discovered the restaurant was closed for good apparently. It would have been nice if the management had let reservation holders know so they wouldn't expect to eat there. Anniversary dinner ruined....

If you're in town for a visit or live local. Port City Chop House is a must go to spot for a high end, steak or seafood dinner. The skilled cooks and kitchen staff know how to cook a steak.

First time to restaurant, great food we celebrate our 50th anniversary had a great time plus everyone was great. If you haven't been there, check it out you won't be disappointed.
It was another date night that was great. We had reservations there was no problem. The wait staff was very proper. Very bougie ? but in a great way. Service was great food was even better. Definitely will go again
ASNALWAYS THE FILET WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION. SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT TIME WE GO
We were seated in the bar, which was disappointing considering we had a reservation. The bar was crowded so the noise was terrible. Overall the food was good, but not great. It seemed like the menu and food was not as good as the last time we dined there. The desert menu was uninspiring. Also, the decor appears to be a bit dated and in need of a refreshing. We sat in a booth and when we sat down it appeared like you hit bottom as the seats were so worn out. Wilmington needs a premium steak house which Port City Chophouse has historically been. After our recent visit it felt like they are living off of their reputation rather than continuing to innovate and improve.
