I was in a hurry to get somewhere & stopped here for a lg $3.35 cup of coffee & asked for hazelnut creamer & 2 splenda. I didn't know you had to pay extra for creamer & splenda so my coffee ended up costing me $5.00!! I'll not go back there again! I am on a strict budget!

Port City Java y'all need to hire employees who actually want to work. This location has been going downhill for awhile but since I like to support local, I still go there. Unfortunately today on December 31st was my last time attending or trying to attend your establishment. My family and I showed up at 5pm (closing time wasn't until 6pm) for a drink, and nobody greeted us at the drive through window.l speaker. We waited a few minutes as we saw a lady leave the front door carrying 2 drinks and then asked for help through the drive through window speaker and received no answer. So, thinking the speaker was broken, we drove up to the window, where we saw an employee inside who made eye contact with us and then walked away giggling, ignoring us. She clearly saw us and never came up to help us. We waited a few minutes waiting to see if she'd return but she never did. It's not even close to closing time at this point, so this display of poor customer service was ridiculously immature and incredibly rude. We drove off eventually when it became clearly obvious the girls working didn't want to work and help potential customers. There was nobody else inside so it wasn't due to them being busy. Port City Java, you lost a longtime loyal customer due to young employees who clearly want to get paid for doing nothing.

We are visiting Carolina Beach this winter. This was our first time patronizing this coffee shop. The service we received from both Molly & Rita was outstanding. They were both so friendly and helpful ... even sharing suggestions for places to go in the area. It's unusual anywhere to meet such warm-hearted, kind and funny service folks. We truly appreciated their customer service that went above and beyond. The coffee was very good but it was the two of them that created such a phenomenal impression!

My latte yesterday was good. Today it is terrible. The milk was scalded not frothy and too hot. When I told the girl at the counter she asked if I wanted to add some cold milk. REALLY I'll never return unless I'm fully compensated for this horrible coffee and experience!!

Over steamed latte, when I asked about it they could add cold milk ? never again terrible place unsatisfactory

Don’t go to this pcj, they ask you for a tip, if you do tip but not enough they make your drink last. Snooty attitudes.

I have been patronizing your Front St. downtown location for the five years I have lived in Wilmington. I've met a few generations of baristas and these wonderful workers usually bring and return smiles with a pleasant confidence. The reason I have no option but to give an overall average rating, even though 90% of my encounters are positive, is Why? Simple. To be an above average or to reach the level of supreme, you must provide this; a consistent top level regular coffee. As above, for flavor, tones, dark through light brews, your coffee is supreme. However, it loses a minimum of 10% due to a simple component, the brewing filter. Whatever you're using, there should be .0001% chance grounds in your coffee. This is ultimately a failure. Something as innocuous as a filter should not be allowed to spoil your coffee.Steve?, A response would be gratefully appreciated. Keep up the tremendous job your employees deliver day in and day out. Thank you.TM WojtysiakWilmington

Best coffee in town with the most seasoned staff. If you appreciate greate coffee, this is the best around. Staff is amazing and always super knowledgeable and helpful. The scones and the mediterranean wrap are some of my favorite menu items.
