The food here is delicious, absolutely loved it. Service could be a little better, but overall it was good. Now the Sawmill on 133 near castle hayne, that one is terrible. Has stuff on specials and then run out before lunch is over with, and still leaves it on the board and don't tell you they have ran out until you order it. But this one is really good.
Fried mushrooms good & hot(bear batter) ordered chciken fried chicken was tender. Friend ordered liver/onions said was good. Nice & thin. Fried okra was over cooked and asked for gravey on side but put on mashed potatoes (not a big deal, just not how I asked) waitress didn't check on us at all until we were done,(was not busy at all so it wasn’t bc of to many patrons) didn't offer dessert mistake bc we were going to get cheesecake to go..also could hear cussing from the kitchen...read full review

Even though I grew up here I never ate at sawmill until recently. Now I know why it's always busy. The food was excellent the service was great and I love the old school atmosphere of Sawmill. I will definitely go back.
