“First time visit. Was impressed to say the least. The friends that I was with are regulars there. I ordered the seafood platter. First time in my life I have ever left seafood on the plate. And I ate very little of the slaw, however it was very good. Didn't eat any of the French fries. There was so much seafood on the plate, I literally could not eat at all. Most places have four oysters on the plate, I believe mine had seven. All fried very crispy and the food was hot when it came to the table. The breading on the seafood was excellent and they even gave me the dark side of the flounder. By the way in case you don't know, the dark side is the best side. There were six of us and we split an order of clam strips, calamari, and crab dip among us. All three of those were delicious too.“
“Great bar. Wonderful bartender. Knowledgeable, and insightful with the bourbons, which are plentiful, on hand. The best burger I've had in Wilmington. Double smash. Not to be missed. Looking forward to an opportunity to go back and trying more of the bourbons. Oh, the place was mostly empty. Kind of shocking considering the service and the decor, layout of the place. Place. It's got everything going for it except people.“
“My first time at this location. I enjoyed the atmosphere and design here. I was seated and placed my order quickly however, the server didn't return during the meal to offer beverage refill or to check on things. When I requested the check and water to go she promptly placed the check on the table but it was awhile to receive the water to go.My meal was delicious.“
“I tried Brent’s Bistro on 3/3/24. I did not have reservations, and I was sat immediately. I may have got lucky, so it is probably a good idea to make a reservation. We started with the crab dip. It was fantastic. It was loaded with crab with a lovely browned cheese topped with diced tomatoes and chives. Most crab dips that I try are loaded with mayo and not crab. Not this one. This is crab-forward and the best I have ever had. After the crab dip, we tried some salads. We ordered the house salad and the sweet pea salad. Both were excellent. I got ranch dressing with the house salad. It was homemade dressing. For our main dishes, we ordered the unique Grilled Mahi w/a honey almond basil pesto rub Served over Spinach risotto, Finished bruschetta tomatoes & balsamic, and the *Salmon Piccata: Sauteed salmon topped with a classic lemon caper sauce served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both dishes were fantastic. I do have to say that the risotto that came with the special was undercooked. Still, they handled it very well by immediately replacing it with some of the best mashed potatoes I have ever had, so I did not ding them on the stars because it is undeniable their food is five stars. A note for wine drinkers is at least for our first visit, the amount they pour for a glass is very generous. As mentioned, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very nice and pleasant. This is a must-try if you visit or Live in the area.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options.Parking: They have a free parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: This is a wheelchair-friendly restaurant“
“I had fried pickle ? burger and it was OK. The burger lacked seasoning but was cooked well. The fried pickles were soggy, not crunchy and not very flavorful. My wife had the pepper jack shrimp ? sandwich and it was yummy! We also had the Parmesan garlic broccoli and the broccoli ? was overcooked for my taste. Service was fine given the place was quite busy. Overall very good not great.“
“The food was delicious, although more expensive than anticipated due to OpenTable having $$ signs when it should have had $$$$ signs. The ambiance was pretty & fun with the outdoor lights hanging from the ceiling. Service was excellent!! I wish the music was 1 notch louder (which still would not be loud) so as not to be as aware of other people's conversations. We enjoyed it.“
“Friendly service. The lobster rolls were delicious being a Mainer we had to go with the Mainah. The servings were generous and we took home another favorite, whoopie pies. We look forward to trying other items.Parking: A good number of spots but a little busy on a Saturday at lunchtime.Kid-friendliness: Open space, casual spot.“
“First time at Port Land Grille, and the service was impeccable, the manager (Eric) came by several times to check if we were enjoying the food and if there was anything we needed. The food was amazing. I had the spinach and chicken lasagna and my boyfriend had rib eye steak (which by the way was cooked perfect) , we shared a spinach and pear salad , I highly recommend it and we also shared crab cake. 10 out of 10. The servings were very generous and the cost I believe was comparable with other restaurants in the area. We will definitely be going back. Thanks to all the staff for their great service.“
“Best lobster in town! Love when Christine is working, she takes extra care to make sure everything is perfect with a smile on her face! She is the best! She loves our dog and sends me out with a little treat for him every time I stop which is once a week!!!!“
“Even taking out there's an atmosphere of the restaurant that makes you want to come back to dine in!Vegetarian options: Salads, vegetables served hot, not just lettuce salads, fresh fruit availableDietary restrictions: If you order anything with a dietary restriction, they will say they can or offer an alternative.Kid-friendliness: It's a family restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk is accessible as well as the tables.“
“Wow what a hidden Gem this place is for someone out of town visiting. The name cought my attention the food cought my stomach !!! Anyone visiting this area it is a MUST !you will not be disappointed with any choices here. The service was above and the food " chef's kiss"“
“Fast, friendly and thorough service. Food was ready very quickly, however, personally the shrimp and grits were not the best that I've had. The scallion and bell pepper taste was overpowering as they were still almost raw as I would have preferred them to be sauteed with the shrimp. Great selection of drinks that were extremely colorful and refreshing. Restaurant size is small compared to the amount of customers that are packed in which makes the atmosphere a little noisier than I would have desired.“
“We went Tuesday for the half priced entrees and had such a great time. The braised short ribs were fantastic and paired perfectly with the red wine flight. The best part of our night was the service. We were taken great care of by Scout and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Highly recomme “
“Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was as expected for a brewery. The service was slow going and drinks weren't refreshed without asking but it could've just been a dud server. It happens. Talk about a tough Food choice to make! Everything on the menu sounded delicious but I ended up going with a burger. It was cooked exactly as requested and the sweet potato fries were bomb. Very affordable for a family of 4. We ate well for just under $60. Would definitely go here again.Parking: Due to location, street parking is limited to meter or city parking garages.“
“We had a great dining experience along with our 2 pre-school aged kiddos. We called 30 mins in advance to try to make reservations. They took our name and number and suggested to be added to the waitlist which helped cut down our wait time when we arrived. Service was excellent and food is delicious. Would highly recommend the Crab Cakes and the Fisherman’s Stew. This place is a gem and looking forward to coming back!“
“This is my new favorite in Wilmington! We did the chefs tasting menu and were so impressed. It was a ton of food and we got to try so many different options. Everything we tried was insanely delicious. We just moved from San Francisco and this food is seriously just as good as any upscale restaurant in SF. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. They are able to accommodate gluten free and modified several dishes. Definitely will be back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly“
“I took 4 out of town first timers, my mother and three German friends. I knew it would knock their socks off...and it did! Blueberry hushpuppies and the blueberry pancakes, the French toast both blasted were the biggest hits. Outside seating on the perfect spring morning with Kat as our impeccable server started my visitor's trip, and this experience will be hard to top.Parking: On a quiet morning, there were lots of near to the restaurant spaces. I know that Lumina Station gets very busy.“
“I’ve been here on two separate occasions and on both occasions I enjoyed the food, the service both times was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great and calming. I would definitely recommend ‘Famous Toastery of Wilmington’ to anyone that wants to enjoy a great breakfast, amazing service and an awesome atmosphere!“
“I love that the first thing the staff does when you go to the counter is provide you a beverage. Tried both burger and the PT DOG. Both made to order, fresh and fantastic. Had the cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, slaw and chili. Just as good as the mains are the fresh cut fries. Outstanding!“
“OMG! You can't go wrong with these folks. Not only are they the nicest people you will ever meet, but they have truly been blessed with culinary skills that you will only encounter a few times in your life. Their food is so tasty and the presentation is even better. They are true professionals who are always on time and never forget anything. We cater with them a lot for person and business functions and what I love is that I don't have to look any further for the best. I have found it with Spoonfed Kitchen!!! Love them!!!!!!!!!!“
“After spending 5 hours buying a car at Mazda, we stopped in here for a late lunch. Ordered the lamb chops, nice sweet flavor. Fries were perfectly salted. The Caesar salad was way too soggy. Mine was with chicken, my daughter had the plain. Looks like most people come for the drinks. Service was 5 stars though. Plenty of parking.“
“Had blast here eve before St. Patty's Day. Crowd and bartenders were great. We were three 60+ yr old travelers playing pool and knocking back brews and the regulars all wanted to know how we found this great locals joint. Well, we're seasoned road warriors.“
“Wife and I had dinner here before a show at the Thalian Theater. We were quite impressed. Being from Pensylvania, we liked the Philly sports memorabilia. The food was great along with the service delivered by our server Mary Hannah.Awesome night in Wilmington with a great dinner and show. Oh yeah, I had the roast beef sandwich that Guy Fieri raved about on his show. Wife had the fish and chips. Both dishes were incredible. We will be back.“
“What a fun day! We used the parking lot and one we had that parking app downloaded, off we went! It was just a short walk over to this historical restaurant with the most beautiful old real wooden floors and we got a great booth! It wasn't busy for lunch and the waiter was wonderfully friendly! Hubby tried the BBQ Clam Chowder and it was loaded with clams with just a hint of bbq in a delicious homemade cream based sauce not too thick at all! He also got the burger cooked perfectly and I got the linguini and calamari! I'm Still thinking about what a great day it was as we left and car toured the old huge historical beautiful buildings down the block before leaving Wilmington! Not too far from MB and a refreshing change from Charleston, but with a lot of similar good vibes!“
“This is my fave restaurant for a special night out in Wilmington, so when it came to choosing where to have my birthday dinner, it was a no brainer. An hour before the reservation, my babysitter had to cancel suddenly. I called the restaurant to ensure it was ok if my 2 year old joined and they assured me it was. I cannot stress enough how WONDERFUL the staff and chef were- even making himButtered noodles and giving him a condiment cup of his favorite - cherries! I was so stressed going into it but had no reason to be at all! Insanely good food and the kindest ppl. Thank you all so much.“
“What a fun dining experience! We met up with friends and had a table reserved in the bar. The bartenders waited on us; they were knowledgeable, personable, professional, and did a wonderful job reading the table to make it a lovely evening. The specialty drink list was a bit bourbon-heavy, but they had a very good selection of liquors and wines as options. I enjoyed my rose and the others did their cocktails, as well. The food menu is split into small and large plates. Though in general the portions were on the smaller side, the food was so flavorful and satisfying that one choice from each of the two sizes was enough for each couple to share.I did not explore the whole restaurant, but it apparently has several smaller (private?) dining rooms, in addition to tables around the bar area and several outdoor tables. We had a great experience and look forward to visiting again.“
“Imagine the best meal you’ve ever had prior to coming here, now be ready for that to be your second best meal after eating here. Never been until today and I’m ready for the next time. Meatloaf sandwich and hilly hash bowl were incredible. Highly recommend.“
“Me and my sister have been here for a year and a half. Each weekend we try a new restaurant. This , BY FAR, was the best, number one, all the way around! Great service , amazing food! I don’t eat left overs but im eating them now. Still yummy. Waitress even recommended the new drink of the day ( can’t remember name but had rum on it) perfection! We will be going back often. Thank you Mollys picture !“
“Highly recommend! My large family (party of 18) dined here at the last minute on a Friday evening and this was, honestly, one of the most pleasant dining experiences I have ever had. After being told by another seafood restaurant in the area that they could not accommodate our party, we called Hieronymous and the friendly staff welcomed us in with open arms. We were seated immediately in a room upon arrival. The wait staff was friendly, fast and accommodating. Everyone’s food came out timely and looked and tasted great! They were even happy to take family pics of us when were done eating. We never felt rushed even though it was late and we knew the restaurant was closing soon. We were all in Wilmington for a funeral and this experience was definitely a positive ending to a tough day for us. We are in Wilmington often and will definitely be back soon!! Thank you Hieronymous management and staff!!“
“Great little place for lunch, breakfast or brunch. Everything is great and the employees are amazing. Bread pudding is A-Mazing! Make sure you try this place while you are in the port city. There is a cool record place across the street and and awesome thrift shop.“
“Got the Rebel Yell with tater tots which was yummy. The sandwich is big so I only at half. Our server was responsive, although they gave my husband tater tots instead of the waffle fries he ordered. They had a high chair for my son. And changed TV channels when they noticed us trying to watch a particular screen that was further away. I would eat here again. Just wish the table lanterns were brighter, its dark inside the restaurant.“
“I stopped by to place an order to-go during the very busy lunch hours. Expecting for my order to take a while, was approached by an employee to ask if I had received my order yet. It ended up that a customer had accidentally taken my order. They apologized and made my order up quick AND gave me a free voucher for next time. They were exceptional and went above and beyond. I will definitely be coming back!“
“My teenage sons wanted to go to a roof top to eat and watch the view. The place is very nice, fancy style very casual, wonderful view and outstanding service. Staff will make anything to make you feel cozy (and warm as it was chilly!) Recommending the Brussels sprouts (delicious) and the Purple hear cocktail! Goes with the mood there ?. No need to say my sons enjoyed the food and the place! So double win!“
“Lindsay was our server tonight and let me just say I haven’t had someone so personable and attentive. My other half is somewhat of a picky eater and also has allergies to certain foods and Lindsay was so accommodating. The food was beyond expectations and I don’t typically take time to review but tonight was memorable enough…“
“Very enjoyable. Slightly above average pub fare. Not terrible by any stretch. The riverboat vibe is relaxing and chill. It doesn't do much outside the environment to distinguish it from other quality pubs, but in the end, it is still also a quality pub.Prices are a smidge high, but not ludicrous.Worth a stop, fer shur.“
“This place was recommended by my Airbnb host, service was awesome. I went early on a Sunday before the crowds came. Was seated right away. I opted for the meatloaf sandwich and a pancake on the side. The sandwich had a nice flavor but was a bit dry for my liking. The grits were delish and creamy and piping hot. Prices were reasonable.“
“Be ready to make a choice for excellent food from a multiple page menu that listed many, many tasty sounding choices. BIG list of local, craft and national taps. Very fair prices on an extensive list of liquor. The Tennessee Turkey sandwich was very good, I had 4 choices for bread, wheat was the ticket!! The wings were 10 for $10. Tasty. Well prepared, nice variety of toppings and sauces. I recommend the dry rub with a choice from the sauce list to dip them in. At 6 pm they were busy, I recommend getting there early. Food came out at a reasonable pace, considering the crowd level. Servers were pleasant, eager to please!!“
“This is a strange review. Why? The overall rating is higher than the individual segment. Why? The beef tartare! The STAR of the night. The lemon puree brightened the dish and married the flavors of the pickled fennel, black garlic aioli, capers, and smoked trout roe. The beet tartare was also a treat. The candied pecans played well with dill sour cream and apple vinaigrette the mustard and capers brought a briny flavor that leveled out the sweet notes, but the smoked goat cheese brought them all together. The oysters were interesting, with vodka sauce parmesan bread crumb. The Blackened Shrimp & Grit Grits lead creamy stone ground grits. The seared greens tasted as though they were blanched before they were seared. The ratio of celery root and sunchokes to shrimp was more on the veggies side. I ordered a side of black eyed peas and collards. The collards were cooked well. I like a more vinegary collard. There was a sweetness that looked to level off the vinegar taste. The sweet was a little much for me. The black eyed peas were fresh and bright. I like mine cooked a little longer, but you could taste the farm to table on these. The sides came out at the end of completing my entree, which was not ideal. The server seemed nervous at the beginning of the service. Warmed up towards the middle and got swamped with tables at the end of our service. My wife had the pork chop, i didn’t try it. I knew better. She didn’t offer like she usually does? The seating was tighter than my liking, but the parties closest were very considerate, we all keep or volume down.Vegetarian options: Lions mane steak & beet tarts, butternut hummus“
“My friend Gina and I came to have a few drinks in an appetizer.it was really good and reasonable. We got mini corn dogs and the pimento cheese spread. Super super superrrrrrr good. The pepper jelly you serve with it. It's amazing ??Definitely will be back“
“Cool spot. You can grab a seat in the Alcove brewery area and order food next door and they bring it to you. I ordered a beer and got my food. Everything was amazing. Only issue is the service was minimal. I had to go back and ask for cutlery and wave to get my check for my one beer, while only 2 others at the bar. We all have off days in the service Industry though. Can't wait to revisit.“
“For the 2nd year I was the Live Entertainment for their Annual Great Gatsby Gala; and needless to say, it was and I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST! The Members have been so very appreciative and supportive of the Show my Business Partner and I perform, and I look SO MUCH FORWARD to each year we are asked to return! The Staff Members are the absolute MOST FRIENDLY AND CORDIAL and have been like extended family from one year to the second ?????! I'm VERY HAPPY AND GRATEFUL for my NEWFOUND FAMILY at the City Club of Wilmington ?????!“
“We came here because burgers and Guy Fieri. I'm so happy we did! Service was very good - when they were out of the wine I was drinking the waitress made a great suggestion for a replacement. The burgers were SO good. I had the pimento and I HIGHLY recommend it. While the fries are not celiac safe, they have a gluten free bun that was great. As someone with a gluten allergy (not celiac)I felt safe and did not have a reaction. We would happily come back and bring friends.“
“The cafe is part of the art museum and what a treat it was for our visit. There was a large party of lovely ladies speaking French, a smattering of children visiting with their mothers, and a few other visitors such as ourselves enjoying the lovely fall Wilmington weather and the lunch fare available. You really must go if you are in the Wilmington area. It is a wonderful experience for young and old alike.“
“The food here is delicious, absolutely loved it. Service could be a little better, but overall it was good. Now the Sawmill on 133 near castle hayne, that one is terrible. Has stuff on specials and then run out before lunch is over with, and still leaves it on the board and don't tell you they have ran out until you order it. But this one is really good.“
“The food is amazing. I really enjoy the different items on the menu. Burgers are GREAT!!! I stopped here one day for a lunch break now its on my top 5 places to eat. The staff is amazing. There is one waitress that's better than the rest, but I keep forgetting to get her name. It's a small staff but you're always met with a smile and a warm plate and the environment is old style reminding you of simpler times when a dinner was the place to be.“
“I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was very nice and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back. By the way, I enjoyed the alligator tail so much that I had to bring some home. My sister and brother also enjoyed it too.“
“Smithfield’s is always consistently delicious with clean restaurants and super curtious employees. The food quality is always very high. Just please please please put some bananas in the banana pudding. Southerners know there should be actual bananas in there rather than banana flavoring and they notice it every time. That’s my only criticism.“
“Ethan was a friendly and attentive waiter. Such a wonderful team member. Also spoke with other sweet and friendly staff members. One is so dedicated to her job, she left her 3 month old baby at home on Xmas to work. Will return again , soon.“
“Ogden is a delightful local spot that offers a unique ambiance, colorful locals, good service and a solid menu. While traveling with a colleague, it was decided that we needed an authentic "non-chain" place to have dinner and catch some college basketball. The Ogden Tap Room more that satisfied that goal. The interior features lots of wood on the floors and walls. It makes for a particular warmth. The staff is attentive and seem committed to ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of the customers. The menu offered lots of variety and can accommodate several dietary need without sacrificing flavor.I highly recommend the Ogden Tap Room and am confident you will be pleased with this choice.“
“Hannah N. gave us incredible service. She was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. The food was delicious as well. Jeremy the Manager was super kind and gave us a warm welcome. I highly recommend Wrightsville Beach Brewery. Oh, I can’t forget the beer…quality for sure.“
