I feel like everyone should know,I was once a waitress here and I would like to explain why she can not keep workers. Ms. Maxine literally takes all of our tips regardless of the amount. She claims she has to tax them however she does way more then that. She only pays 5$ per hour and then states that the tips is what will help. Nice diner with delicious burgers it's like your own home cooking the fries were also good homemade french fries and burgers fresh condiments the tomatoes were so good staff friendly

I really wanted to love Penders Cafe. I've passed it for years being in downtown Wilmington.We walked in at 10:30am. Was told they were still setting up (hours show open at 10am). We felt unwelcome. But, they showed us to a booth.The nostalgia factor is why they are getting stars. It's really a cool place that has been preserved with time.Limited menu was completely overpriced.
