“Applebee's used to be a favorite for us in the 80s and 90s when we lived up north. It was predictable and we always left satisfied. After a horrible experience in Conway, SC last month, we decided never to patronize Applebee's again. Then we saw a TV advertisement for the current Two for $25 promotion. Friends in Stafford VA enjoyed the meal at their local Applebee's and shared their decent chain restaurant experience. We were convinced to give Applebee's another chance. We now live in Georgetown County SC, and we were definitely not going to Conway. We Googled and found Leland to be our next closest location. We had the afternoon totally free, so we ventured north on 31 and 17 to Leland, and we were so pleasantly surprised. We were greeted and seated by a smiling hostess. Our amazing waitress, Beth, came over to introduce herself and take our drink order; unsweetened ice tea and water with lime and lemon slices. She returned with drinks and answered all of our questions on the special and offered garlic green beans as a substitute for broccoli. We both ordered the special skillet 6 oz steak over garlic mashed potatoes with green beans. Our appetizer was our first try on boneless wings. Beth brought the wings quickly and we are them with a knife and fork. They were essentially just decent quality chicken nuggets with garlic and shaved Parmesan, yet filling and delicious. Beth brought our main course and refilled our drinks. She came back to check if all was prepared well. Both of us were full halfway through our meals, and Beth cheerfully brought us take out containers, and to-go cups for new drinks. That will be a good Saturday breakfast! Beth, and the Leland Applebee's has renewed our faith in corporate chain eateries. We usually patronize local places at the beach, and love a high end experience often as well. Beth's expertise may lead her into a more sophisticated setting. I can see her doing well at a Morton's or a Ruth's Chris, or any of the finer restaurants along the Atlantic coast. “Great spot to hit up on the Gallery Walk night. You absolutely can't go wrong with giving this a go. The menu is very cool, great vibes. Reminds me of some bars in Philly. You can always get some rocking food and super tasty beer (great selection by the way). If you like onion rings then it is a no brainier. The kitchen has it all together, service is very friendly. The place can get packed at times. It is worth the wait. Keep Rocking Penny!“

“My wife and I recently visited the Cameron Art Museum for the first time for our granddaughter's first ballet recital. After the recital we decided on eating dinner at the Cam Cafe. What a great choice it was.\n\nWe were seated right away and our server was Natalie C. and she was excellent. Very friendly, personable, helpful and just a nice person to have as our waitress. She recommended the Tempura Zuchini as an appetizer and it was excellent. We both enjoyed it. After that we ordered our dinners. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and green beans. I ordered the Tortellini Basilico. Both were well prepared, very tasty and nice sized portions.\n\nFor drinks I had a Corona and she had the Borealis White Wine...Both went well with our dinner choices. All in all we both totally enjoyed our dinner at the Cam Cafe and I am sure we will be going back again for another special occasion dinner or their weekend brunch... Well done Cam Cafe...“

“Took one of my old bosses there Today. Today was German Cuisine day. We started with soup, I had trout and then Apple Strudel. The student wait staff was very attentive and kept a close eye on my iced tea. With my strudel, I had some coffee. This is by far one of the Best Hidden secrets of Wilmington. Only thing is not everyone can get in. So if you can get in to have one of their Wednesday lunches, I would say jump on it. Staff, food and ambiance is outstanding.“

“I am a new resident to town and have been making my way around to the locally owned spots. I popped in for lunch and had the most delicious cheeseburger! I ended up adding on hushpuppies, which were also delicious. The diner is a step back in time and absolutely adorable with counter and booth seating. My burger came with fries and homemade sweet tea, which was very refreshing.The owner was kind and invited me back. I told her the next time I am in, I am getting the fried apple pie and ice cream!“

“If you're looking for a down home style breakfast or lunch during the week this is the place. Nothing fancy mostly you'll meet up with truckers or service workers its 1 of the closest, quickest place near our office to get a decent meal for the price. Def not a fine dining place but they have daily specials for lunch like fried chicken, spaghetti your wallet won't hurt when you leave here. Also its a gas station on 1 side where you can buy bait, if that tells u anything 🤣 great food, people & prices!“

“Super nice place! Love the location and the ‘sea side shanty’ feel we got going on here! I had the salmon BLT and it was very tasty! Only problem with it is they forgot onions on there :/ but we also got the Elijah’s pooboy? I think… anyways it was with flounder and it was super tasty!!!! Looked super tasty on the plate!

“I gave this restaurant a call asking if The public could dine in due to it being inside the hotel. She said of course we could. l let her know that we were coming from the federal courthouse to do breakfast because we was tired of same old breakfast spot adjacent to them. “My husband and I had a really great time we ate dinner and we went upstairs third floor on the roof to dance and have some drinks and we're having a blast when was the funnest time we've ever had in the 20 years we've been together!! And right before the DJ is supposed to come we were kicked out for an innocent mistake I was having a cigarette in my hand while we were coming downstairs from outside on the roof( hence I said we've been drinking also for like the past hour or two while we were there and we all know that the drinks are not cheap) but we were having so much fun it didn't bother us- we're coming down the stairs to the second floor a young man that work there stopped me and told me that we can't smoke downstairs I was completely oblivious to the fact that I even had the cigarette in my hand cuz I was pretty buzzed I was so apologetic to the game and gave him the cigarette and just kept apologizing so he was fine my husband and I proceeded to go out to the parking lot to put my husband's coat in there because we were going to go back upstairs because the DJ was going to come and figure there's going to be a lot more people and didn't trust our coats laying down. So as we got back to the entrance they stopped us and told us we weren't allowed to come back in due to the cigarette situation I am extremely upset about it because I thought we should have at least got a heads up especially for the fact we didn't give them no problems or anything we were sincerely and genuinely apologetic and we've only been drinking at their place for the past 2 hours buying their drinks they should have been more understanding“
