This evening we were excited to bring friends who had never been to Seabird, and it was my wife’s birthday! The food did not disappoint. Our friends loved it. It was good to see a restaurant with a sense of humor when they brought out a “no calorie” birthday cake! (A lit candle stuck to a dessert plate)
Seabird is, hands down, the best place to go for a truly exceptional dinner in Wilmington, NC. The chef, Dean Neff, is a virtuoso, and the quality of the delicious food is complemented by the stunning interior. (The building's renovation won a Preservation Award from the Historic Wilmington Foundation—well deserved!) First off the menu Is super small maybe 14 items. Thats fine. I chose the short ribs mainly because I don’t eat mussels, clams or oysters which was in 95% of the other menu items. Let me say they were good. But they were $48 with basically no side and it was not a big portion at all. I don’t mind paying for a good meal but I left hungry.
