It reminded me of the old Southern diners I used to visit as a kid. The waitress even brought a few regulars their drinks without asking what they wanted. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which came with a biscuit. The grits were SUPER cheesey, but I thought they were pretty good. I'm glad we decided to try this place.

I love The Sawmill Cafe! This is such a wonderful neighborhood gem, and the people and food are always fantastic. While I have dined here many times, I brought my father here for the first time yesterday (he's visiting) and he raved about his fish and shrimp and talking about coming back over his morning coffee. Thank you for giving us locals a place to keep coming back to.

Claire is the absolute best !
I usually order take out and this sweet young lady always goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect when I arrive, especially because I call when I'm leaving work "Wilmington" and am exhausted and just needing a good home cooked meal to take home. Last time I ordered she wasn't working that day and when I arrived over approx 45 minutes later my order had not even been put in and I wasn't told this...
