I’m new to the area and was excited when a friend suggested this place while we were out last night. Their fall cocktail menu looked amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity to try any of the drinks. We sat at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for service. There were 3 people serving drinks and only one other group at the bar with other patrons scattered throughout the cocktail area. As we sat there, 4 other groups of people came in and were served, all by the same bartenders who walked past us multiple times without acknowledging our presence. At one point, one of them said “be right there ladies”. We waited another 10 minutes and watched him serve another couple who came in after us before we gave up and left. I’ve never felt more insulted or humiliated by an establishment. It’s unfortunate because this looks like a great spot, and other reviews mention an awesome vibe. I just wish we’d had the same experience.

I really like this place, especially since they moved to the Bailey Power Plant. It's well-run, and pretty much everything they have is delicious. But let's face it: I really come here for the chocolate. Their cayenne cinnamon sipping chocolate is one of the best things in Winston-Salem, especially if you order it extra-rich. I should also mention that their scones are the only real scones in town — perfectly textured and crumbly, with none of that scone-shaped biscuit nonsense that goes on everywhere else in the South. Highly recommended!

Really good gelato coffee and chocolate. Fantastic location too. We stopped here on our way to the outer banks l, and it gave our 3 year old a fantastic place to run around and play. Wish I could visit this place regularly.

Staff was largely helpful and kind. If you get lucky you can see the machines running and making chocolate too! The desserts are delicious, the coffee is tasty and the adult beverages were a huge hot with our table of 5. We also thought it was a cute idea t pair the desserts and alcoholic drinks. It's become one of my go to places to visit go to when I'm downtown. Not to mention it's suitable for kids and adults.

We stopped in for some take-home sweets after a visit to some other places here in Baily Power Plant. The place was very cool and we picked up three items, one for each of us. The Blondie brownie which was ordered by my son didn't even make it home and so I can only tell you he greatly enjoyed it. My wife got the chocolate chip cookie which was thin and still soft with great chocolate nibs in it. I think I scored the best with the Smoked bourbon bacon brownie. The smokiness came through on the flavor and the bacon was soft and salty which gave an excellent complement to the sweet and rich chocolate brownie. I am still thinking about it a day later....yes it was that good.

Not great. I got a tart, it looked nothing like the photos online...like at all. Was hoping to love it, but it just was not it.

Love the new location in the Bailey power plant! So much bigger and with a bar! However, keep in mind that for right now at least they are only serving spirits on the weekends due to foot traffic and staffing. Their cocktail menu looks amazing and I love how they have paired the cocktails on the menu with dessert suggestions! Will need to come enjoy those pairings soon. They also offer ice cream and coffees and teas. Also like how they support other local chocolatiers and sell their products too. We enjoyed a Chad's Chai tea, a mocha and a chocolate chip cookie that evidently won and award for best in NC and it was all amazing! Very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon and would be a great place to get some work done while enjoying a coffee and a treat. Can imagine the weekends will be quite busy, especially as it would be a great place to go for after dinner at one of the local restaurants for dessert and an after dinner drink.

The heck with work from home. They have chocolate, coffee, food, ice cream, beer, and liquor. Plus a concrete patio.

I pre-ordered some Valentine's day truffles and WOW! Black Mountain Chocolate outdid themselves. So many different flavors, including a classic salted caramel and hazelnut, as well as more unique flavors like lavender and Texas Pete. The truffles were delicious and the attention to detail in the packaging was lovely. Impressed by the inside eating area when I picked up the truffles--I will definitely have to return to try out their drinking chocolate or other decadent desserts! Great to see the staff wearing masks!

Have been here a few times for coffee beans, gelato, and pastries. The store is very cute and quiet during the day with comfy booths (no WiFi if you plan to study). Pastries are pricey but high quality. Non-chocolate desserts are a bit mild. Salted caramel tart and salted caramel brownie have such a great taste and texture.

Love this place, love the whole concept. We went in on a rainy day and had some espresso martinis which were delicious. It's very cozy, with nice ambiance.

Nice, relaxing, coffee shop sort of feel to the place. We all just had some hot chocolate on a chilly day. The hot chocolates were awesome and the cayenne cinnamon is definitely worth a try if you want something a little less traditional. The standard fair hot chocolate was incredible too though; both solid choices.
