Blue Ridge Ice Creams at Dewey's Bakery

The pink lemonade is to die for. And the sugar cake I could eat in one sitting or day if I didn't watch myself. The other cakes are good as are the cookies and ice cream it's hard here. Been going there 47 years and it's a treat every time!!!

Super friendly service, everyone at the store just smiled and seemed genuinely happy. They were giving away cake for free, so I got an eclair and a pink lemonade cake. Both were good, traditional and a tad on the sweeter side. The bakery has all sorts of souvenirs for every occasion. Very cute, corky, outdoor seating, and drinks available.

My UBER driver told me don’t miss this bakery in Winston Salem ! We stopped at one of their locations and took home a whole bagful of delights - cupcakes, brownies, tarts and of course their famous Moravian sugar cake. Worth finding them :)

They have quit serving ice cream

There’s more gift shop than bakery to it right now. If you go on Mondays they have free sheet cake samples! That was a pleasant surprise

Granted the cookies are good, but heaven help you if you need customer service. I ordered online and they shorted the order a few items. Would have been no big deal, if they ever answered their phones. Actually what they do is worse- they play a recording that make you think you are in a cue and after 4 minutes, the recording says we cant take your call right now. I called 4 times and each time the recording as exactly the same. Beyond infuriating and wholly disrespectful of the customer. Order from Amazon- but avoid direct contact with this company.

Have loved Dewey’s for years; the store is now huge; half gift shop but bakery items are still the same. Cannot go through the holidays without MoDavian cookies and Sugar Bread.

7/9/22 I went yesterday to get the tin of Moravian sugar cookies for my wife. The tins sell for right at $28. ea. I picked one up at the Reynolda store and looked at the date, I was shocked to see 8/2/22 EXPERATION DATE???????? I had them check, and every tin container of sugar cookies was dated the same. I left and went to Thruway store and they had the same thing. This is so sad to me that a company as old as Deweys would CHEAT us like this. Approximately 16 days until out of date and still the ridiculous price of $28. They could at least put them on sale, but I guess they would rather US lose our money than Deweys lose any! I call this The Fleecing of America. This is part of what is wrong with our economy, STINGY & CROOKED !!!!!!!!! Dewey's, supposedly part of America's History ?? They could mark down to 1/2 price and I am pretty sure they would not lose anything. BEWARE

Went to visit the shop and got 2 scoops of Vanilla and it was delicious. Reminded me of a Mister Softee in N.Y.

The salted caramel ice cream was yummy, but I was quite surprised to find it loaded with dark chocolate chunks. Can you say BONUS!!

Half overstuffed gift shop, half packaged baked goods, two small fresh bakery cases. Overpriced. But you can find Moravian specialties like Lovefeast Rolls, and the staff is friendly. Busy busy place.

I like some their products, but the staff not so much. Completely rude and unprofessional. The way they talked to me is unbelievable. I saw an advertisement while I was ordering online that said you get a free tube of lemon moravian cookies with every purchase. The very rude woman that I spoke to about this explained that in small print it explains that my purchase doesn't qualify for that promotion. I looked it up. There is no small print explaining anything like that. I went back in to ask her to show me the small print that explained that,and she said well that's only for the website for Dewey's not pick up. It doesn't say that anywhere in the promotion.. I told her I would review Dewey's and explain that was a false advertisement. She said she didn't care. I said well let me add that to my review. She said "I don't care about that either." I'm a regular customer there, and yet they speak to me like this.

Locally owned store with such yummy deserts. Our favorite is the sugar cake. Lots if NC items you can purchase too. Highly recommend!

Not a bad stop for bakery items. The strawberry lemon cupcake I had was okay. I enjoyed the little shopping area they have inside the shop too.
