Been here a few times, and have yet to have anything resembling a negative experience. They have a surprising number of options available for a place so heavily focused on chai. The employees seem to enjoy working there. There's a little area for young children to play in.
Everything I've tried has been tasty in one way or another. Probably overpriced for what you get, but that's par for the course with these downtown tea/coffee places.
Had a hot chai flight here. Fantastic! All the teas were different and super yummy. The right amount of milk and sweetness.
Came in today on a whim while on a walk with a friend. We both got the hot vanilla chai latte—hers with almond milk, mine with whole milk. They were both excellent and we drank every drop. We both commented how tasty the drinks were. The location is very cute and welcoming. It is spacious with plenty of seating and an overall inviting vibe. Can’t wait for my next visit to read and chill out for a bit. Perfect cozy season location!
I had dirty chai 2x it is as so good.
I’ve been a repeat customer for years. Service is always great. The seasonal drinks are delicious, creative and balanced. Don’t miss their retail wall where you can take home some of the best loose leaf chai available in the area.
When I pay for a 16 ounce drink, I certainly expect that My 16 ounce cup Isn’t missing a 1/4.
Decided to go back to Chad’s chai today and grab a matcha, they have the best tasting matcha in Winston for certain.
In my order, I asked for a 16 oz matcha light ice
What I received was a 16 oz cup filled 12 oz with the “light ice I requested”
It was communicated to me that their policy is to pour drinks according to Ice/contents standard. (Fine) Business is business, I understand.
But as a customer, the least I ask for is to get what I pay for which was 16 ounces and not 12.
At least their honest about the discrepancy,
in conversation, the barista confirmed that I did get 12 ounces.
Pumpkin Pie chai was heavenly! Vegan whipped cream isn't as scary as it sounds either 🤣 very tasty
The employee we met was lovely and had so many great recommendations, I wish I caught their name! They told me all about their farmers market booth and we can't wait to visit again soon. They have a parking lot in the back too
Excellent tea House with several varieties of chai and other tea. Impressed they have tea flights! Beautiful presentation and they really know their stuff! Loose leaf tea available for sale.
So many flavors of tea and vegan treats including a scone, pop tart, cookies and savory pastries as well. Service was fast and the ambiance is cozy.
Amazing in every way

Very good. I love the sesame noodles but they go so fast!
As I prep to move to LA I have to give my favorite spot a shoutout. I came here when I was first touring UNCSA 3 years ago and it’s easy to say I’ve been coming back semi-regularly ever since. All of the workers are so kind and Chad is a great business owner who has a real passion you don’t see everywhere. The pastries are simply to die for, my favorite being the mochi donuts. As I look back at my time in Winston-Salem I’ll always remember Chad’s Chai as my favorite study spot. The teas are also incredible, my favorite being the orange chocolate matcha which was a part of this year’s 2024/2025 winter menu. Cheers to Chad’s Chai I hope I can find a spot in LA that can live up to the high standards that this small business set.
My absolute favorite tea house! Friendly staff and I always buy a bag of "Chai ya Yai!"
Tried the vanilla chai today and it did not disappoint! Some of the most authentic chai I’ve tasted at a coffee shop that did not have an artificial flavor. Friendly service too. Will be back!
I meet here often for client meetings or just to drop by for a warm bev or pick me up. This is the cutest relaxing and welcoming place. I love how they change the menu seasonally so that you can try different drink options.
