I’ve been here a few times already and I’m never disappointed. The staff is friendly and the food comes out pretty fast. I also just really like the vibe, especially sitting outside on a nice day.

My favorite is the karaage don, I’ve gotten it three times now and it so delicious and super filling with tons of chicken. I also always make sure I grab a few onigiri for lunches on the way out. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often…

This is hands down THE BEST authentic Japanese food that I’ve had anywhere near the Winston-Salam area. If you are debating Don Express or somewhere else, DON’T. Choose Don Express, I promise you won’t regret it.
I personally would recommend the Yakiniku Don or the Yakisoba but honestly everything that I’ve tired besides those has been amazing also. What ever you choose, you can’t go wrong.

In my opinion Don Express is one of the best restaurants in town, especially for authentic Japanese food. I've never had an item on their menu disappoint me and their Ramen is marvelous, and at the perfect price point. A lot of other places that sell Ramen will charge you the more for a much lesser quality Ramen, but not Don Express! Their Ramen is at thr perfect price point and has excellent quality and flavour. As someone who cooks a lot, and lived in Asia for a good portion...
