Best beer in Winston, probably the whole state. Absolutely delicious beer, knowledgeable staff, and you can taste the difference in quality, detail, and craftsmanship. As a home brewer, Im excited to taste more and learn from these exceptional brewers. 10/10 highly recommend.
Top notch brewery focusing on German, Austrian & other Central European styles.
Fresh beer all the time & brewing seasonally.
Wonderful
Far and away the best brewery I've ever been to. The attention to detail and love for the craft is evident, and the care put into the brewing process is a step above other craft breweries. My wife and I routinely make the trip from Durham on the weekends, and if you are looking for a new brewery to try in NC, this is the one. The 4 Meters and Lunar Handshake are my favorite beers from them, and I highly recommend trying them if they are on tap when you head over.
Quality brewery! Had three beers while here; two Czech lagers and a red IPA, everything was tasty for its style. Beer is definitely a cut above what you get at the average brewery. Read about it on vinepair in the ‘30 Best Breweries in the Country Right Now’ article and knew I had to visit when passing through. Relaxed and cozy vibes that lack pretension. Staff were friendly and elevated the experience. I’ll definitely visit again when in the area.
Pretty
Great beer, good atmosphere, and a friendly crew! Highly recommend!
Great beer and atmosphere
Ridiculously good beer and great prices. Perfect music as well but I wish they would dim the lights a little. Comfier furniture would go a long ways towards nurturing the cozy vibe a place like this deserves. As it stands the interior feels too sparse and minimal.
We love coming by Lesser-Known when we get a chance. First of all, every one of the beers are excellent. On top of that, the space is lovely. Lowkey, classic, and romantic. It’s an ode to the old world, a simple experience in the very best sense of the word. Winston is blessed to have Lesser-Known. And we are thankful

Just wow. These guys actually care about beer. Proper regional styled European beers. I’m just so excited to have found this place. Had the Rauchbier (my favorite style of beer period), Kellerbier, and Ceramic. All were fantastic and incredible representations of their respective style of beer.
Lesser Known is the best brewery in town for certain, considered by many to be the best brewery in the state, and in my opinion the greatest brewery I have ever been to.
Am I biased because it’s located down the street from my home? You could say that. But I would challenge you to find a better ensemble of no-frills beer anywhere in the country.
A vibe perfected, a vision brought to fruition by two geniuses. I follow these gentlemen’s new releases the way some people follow Phish around the country. I have an entire notebook dedicated to their bust-outs, reprises, and new tracks.
In all seriousness, great beer- and I have no background in the science of brewing- But I am a sucker for a group of folks that executive anything at such a high level, while maintaining such a tremendous appreciation and love for their craft. And for that I know these guys are true stewards of the craft, and take the preservation of European brewing techniques seriously, all while pushing the boundaries of what makes a beer new and exciting.
Much love from Jack, and happy thanksgiving ya turkeys.
Great atmosphere and tasty brews! Highly recommend the cider
This is hands down the best (relatively) new brewery in maybe the greater triad area. Staff is also incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Also I beat the owner in fantasy football last week
Take it from a local that has been to every beer spot in Winston-Salem, this place has the best beer. If you enjoy European style brews this place is for you. This place is truly unmatched in the area.
