Caviste offers an inviting, casual, but upscale, wine bar experience, that, coupled with the food offerings from the cohabitant Bobby Boy Bakery, and combined with the friendly, and, extremely knowledgable, owners and staff, delivers a palette-expanding, and nourishing, experience that make it a "must-try" destination in Winston Salem.
I walked in with a guest and we were a bit caught off guard as we did not know what to expect. We arrived to grab a bottle of wine to go and perhaps try a pastry. The pastry kitchen closes in the evening for the kitchen to provide small plates for the wine store customers. Our server at the bar guided our tasting and small plate selection (boudin was on point) while the manager/shop owner helped with the bottle to go selection.
