I had an impromptu Monday off and the $5 mimosa special was on. The veggie quiche is the perfect texture with a buttery, flaky crust and the avocado toast is delicious! I will definitely be back!

Loved the vibe here! Our group was up in the balcony on Saturday night, and it was the perfect vantage point to hear the live duo performing. Great music, great atmosphere.
My wife and I were in town for an appointment and needed a place for breakfast. We went with Remedy Cafe and had a great experience. The lady at the register was new and still training but she did great and we were in no rush. We ordered a Banana Latte, Avocado Toast and a Cheese Croissant. Everything tasted great and came out very timely!

The people who used to be here were always on point, they knew the products, always felt like I walked into their home and they served with such love, today at the beginning I was met with some of that. Then I went back down for seconds of coffee. A lot of I don’t know. Lots of It and more of annoyance met with my questions to the products. While as I walked away they were chuckling and within ear shot they were gossiping about my questions about which milk is sweeter.
There is a reason I ask my questions and I do not need to be annoyed because they are annoyed like I am a bug on a windshield,
An argument can be made that they weren’t, then they should do better at making it not seem that way. The lady here she was not a part of their behavior.
The guy here saying all coffee is sweet one day before sold me a drink and said that it was sweet while my date spit it back into the cup from how bitter it was and while I could stand bitter drinks, that day I couldn’t even finish it. Both coffees I ordered today was a disappointment

Housed in a historical building, The Remedy has charm to spare. The high wooden bookshelves and designated reading tables give it literary cachet, but The Remedy leans more cozy than stuffy. There's plenty of seating inside and out, and this would be as good a place for a group as it would be for partaking solo.
Part coffeeshop and part bar, The Remedy also offers baked goods, flatbreads and charcuterie alongside its coffees, teas, and cocktails. I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. It was prepared quickly, and it made for a smooth sip: not too sweet and no acidity.
Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.

Space is great- definitely coolest spot in Winston for coffee BUT baked goods are poor quality and priced like we're in a big city. Also no ceramic in house mugs?!! How? Everything is disposable. Coffee shops are usually leading edge in sustainable practices so easy thing they should do to minimize waste.
Coffee is alright. Place has been around for awhile but hasn't improved on this stuff.

When it comes to cafés, two things matter most to me: atmosphere and quality. I visited once and spent about $21 on a flatbread and a small drink. The price itself wouldn’t bother me if the experience of being there felt comfortable.
The location is adorable, tucked into a cozy neighborhood and charming building. Unfortunately, the seating layout is where the experience falls short. There are simply too many tables and chairs packed into the space, which makes ordering, waiting for food, and finding a seat feel cramped and chaotic.
What the café gains in maximizing seating, it loses in atmosphere. Guests are constantly moving chairs, squeezing past tables, and saying “excuse me,” which creates a surprisingly overstimulating environment for a place that should feel relaxed.
If they removed even 10–20% of the seating, the space would likely feel much more comfortable and enjoyable. I’d be open to returning if the layout felt less crowded.
