The place is pretty but the food was mediocre for us spending $300 between 3 people. The server seemed annoyed by us but one of us was missing our food because she misheard her order and thought she ordered something different and all our food got cold waiting for one of our entrees cause it's rude to eat infront of someone with no food. Then we had to ask for a steak knife, had to ask where our other side was. Like, I was about to get up and start cooking/Getting stuff for myself since she was clearly annoyed. I didn't eat much of my food and took it home and it was disgusting later. This wasn't a great experience and the food wasn't great, especially for the price. Not recommended..

Bernardin’s offers an exceptional dining experience. The service is impeccable, and the food is both intriguing and delectable. The flavors are robust and satisfying, and the cooking temperatures are spot-on. Whether you choose to dine indoors or outdoors, you’re in for a treat.

Food was beyond amazing, I was very impressed. Wonderful atmosphere in an old house with beautiful art. The food was delicious and inspiring. My Old Fashioned was overly sweet and served in refrigerator ice. The wine list is varied enough to any taste. Will come again will some reservation!

Horrible customer service!! We had a dinner booked and we were eating there to book my sons rehersal dinner and the man would not even point to the area where we could have it and he also sad they were too busy to honor our reservation! So we cancelled our dinner reservation! The gentleman said to me - you are not from around here- I said no- I am from NY and he was so short so our rehearsal dinner will not be there- so beware!!
Came to Bernadine’s while on a business trip. Great food and great service. Loved the menu. Especially the apps. It was difficult to choose since everything sounded great. We were in the garden room. It was really very nice. I look forward to dining here again the next time I’m in Winston-Salem! Really excellent!

Exactly what you would expect from a nicer restaurant in a historic house. Indoor and outdoor seating are both available so it is perfect for a NC fall evening. The food was prepared just as expected with nice presentation and flavor. You must absolutely save room desert as their CREME BRULEE is the BEST I have EVER had. And that's saying something as it's my favorite desert so I get it everywhere we go!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was an all-around excellent experience! Service, food, and atmosphere were top notch. We made reservations for dinner and were seated in their indoor/outdoor pavilion that felt like we were nestled into a little garden, but with the benefit of having a fan/climate controlled temperature. Our waiter was excellent, offering the perfect balance of giving us time to decide our food, but also checking on us and offering more water or drinks. He had the specials menu DOWN and didn't consult his notes once to tell us about some delicious options. We ordered the fried calamari to start, with the Thai chili sauce (so good) and a surprisingly delicious mustard with a spicy horseradish kick. They also have bread service! Love that this restaurant offers that since it seems to be so rare now! The rolls were tasty and the herby butter was lovely. For the entree, I got the maple duck breast with polenta and red cabbage and it was heavenly. I would 100% order that again! My husband ordered the lamb chops with the fried rice cake and he was very pleased. The kimchi slaw on the fried rice cake was excellent! And dessert: don't sleep on the creme brulee or the cheesecake! We were really happy with both and I don't think you could go wrong here. Will definitely be back for our next special dinner!
Parking: They offer a small parking lot of ~10 spaces for dinner guests, but lots of parking on the street nearby.

Really disappointed. I didn't even get to visit the restaurant. It was recommended by a coworker, because I was looking for a special new place to take my wife for our first anniversary next month, and it falls on a Monday, which a lot of restaurants are closed. I called today to ask about the setting or environment, the person who answered claimed he didn't know what I was asking, and then suggested that I just look at the pictures online. I was really prepared to make reservations today, but he didn't even try to "sell". I didn't get a friendly vibe over the phone conversation, so I simply said thank you, and hung up. Sad to say, but I will be looking further for my special occasion.
I would likely be inclined to give them 5 stars if there was adequate parking..... Parking is not convenient and I was really concerned about being late attempting to find a place to park. Our server - Alec - was excellent save one forgivable moment. The food was well-portioned, flavorful and visually pleasing. We will likely be returning for another date night!
This is one of our favorite places in town. Had the sea bass special and it was cooked to perfection. Love their outdoor dining patio - but it can be noisy with a full house. But always have great meals there.
Been here many times. This was the best tasting experience we've had. One table of loud guests did dampen the experience, but overall wonderful night. My wife enjoyed her salmon dish and I enjoyed my filet mignon. Service was excellent.
Outside gem in Winston-Salem!!! Surprisingly diverse and interesting menu including wine list. Don't miss out on this one!!
