“I work here so I might be a little biased. But I frequently attend the bar for food as a customer too when I'm not working. As far as being an employee here, I love it! The owners are amazing! It's great having owners who are invested in their bar and are helping their employees every day, without question. I know that if I'm slammed, Hydi and Steve will be right there with me, serving drinks, stocking beer, filling ice, etc., to help ensure customers get the best service possible. They provide so much support when needed and I have no problem supporting them back by spending every dime they pay me on their tacos every Tuesday 🤣. I also love the small town, family business aspect of working here. The owners extended family is absolutely amazing and always willing to lend a hand if needed as well. It's something you don't see in bigger towns. Hydi and Steve have done an amazing job at updating and remodeling the bar but honoring all of the history and memories that have happened within the walls of this establishment. When I go to the bar as a customer I've always had the best food and service. The steak Philly.... 🤤🤌 The environment is great, music is top notch, and there's always a familiar face in the building. I love hearing customers tell stories of "the good ol' days" and wish I could have been there for some of the stories, but I'm also excited to make new memories at The Otoe Spur with awesome owners and the best customers.”

“My family and I live in town and have made this our go to for dining out nights. We actually choose The Branding Iron over Omaha and Lincoln 9/10 times! The food is made from scratch and cooked to order. The specials have made choosing just one night to visit hard- Thursdays Fridays and Sundays are our personal favs. The hard working and attentive staff have become friends and the environment is homey. So happy to have a spot like this in Cook!”

“My wife and I had dinner reservations for 5:00pm on Thanksgiving day. Lied Lodge hosts a very popular heavily attended Thanksgiving buffet earlier in the day but we chose to dine at the quieter evening hour. Timbers offered a simple Thanksgiving meal beginning with a choice of salad or lobster bisque, a main course consisting of smoked turkey or roast beef, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie for dessert. We opted for locally produced wine and beer. My wife had a glass of the Arbor Day Farm Honeycrisp wine and I tried a beer from Zipline Brewing Company Omaha. My wife said the wine was semi dry with strong apple notes but surprisingly delicious. Our food was well prepared with large portions - traditional flavors done right. Our waiter Branden provided excellent service. All in all, we had a wonderful dining experience.”

“We just spent the weekend at the Arbor Day lodge. The accommodations were excellent. The food at Timbers was amazing! The scenery was the best. The trails were so lovely and well kept. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit. If you’re looking to connect with nature with your family, this is an excellent place. The camp fire and s’mores put it over the top!”
