Embers Bakery & Cafe Reviews
Great service at the drive thru! Once I ordered, I only needed to wait a few minutes to get my drink! They came right up to my vehicle to get my order and answered all of my questions regarding the menu. Highly recommend!
We were on a road trip when our rental car started having issues and the nearest place to get a replacement was in McCook, over 100 miles away from where we were. Off we went and we made it into McCook around lunch time so after swapping vehicles, we started looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Embers. The food was good and the staff were incredible. I ordered a box of the assorted candies and stollen bread for my mom. The stollen bread was missing. They apologized via email and sent a box to her with the bread and additional treats along with an apology note. They also sent me a the same box with an apology note. When we visit our family in McCook we usually make a stop for their delicious doughnuts!

Embers Bakery & Cafe offers very good food and coffees, with favorites including the Beaver Creek sandwich, Apple Planter, savory breakfast items, baked treats, and the Red Pepper Gouda soup. The bakery is known for its excellent customer service, as seen when they made a private party exception for a customer. The cinnamon bread and rye bread are highly recommended, with the cinnamon bread being described as the best ever eaten. Desserts like donuts and treats such as the German crispie are also popular. Customers enjoy the warm, buttered bread served with salads, which adds a special touch, and the unsweetened tea is a good choice. The restaurant is charming and worth a visit, with friendly staff and delicious offerings making it a McCook favorite.
